Binta Robinson is a Washington, DC-based attorney and member of the District of Columbia Bar. When she isn’t working, Binta Robinson is an avid cyclist. The Capital Crescent Trail is one of the top bike trails in the greater DC area. Although Capital Crescent is one of the busiest commuter paths in the United States, the bike gear design organization Liv calls it “beautiful” and ranks it first on its list of the best DC bike routes. Beginning in the heart of Silver Spring and ending at the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge, the Capital Crescent Trail stretches roughly 11 miles. More than a third of it runs along the east bank of the Potomac River. Riders also pass historical sites such as Fort Sumner and the Loughborough Mill. Biker should be aware that the ride is generally uphill going north and downhill going south. They should also be prepared to traverse surfaces of crushed stone and pavement.
