INTRODUCTION
• This hospital started as a first aid center, 30 years back which
gradually changed into a Dispensary with only OPD facilities till
1997
• Need for Indoor facility was felt when patients of Dengue were
refused admission in Panel Hospitals due to the epidemic of the
disease in Delhi that year.
• Thereafter, it has developed both in infrastructure and manpower
in order to provide:

in NTPC

• Focussing more on Preventive health care
• Maximum utilization of available resources
with judicious cost reduction
• Medical expenses & Employee cost at BTPS more than other
stations due to Delhi being at Metro with abundance of
Superspeciality hospitals
• More retired empl & those posted on medical grounds.Cost
more due to burden of chronic diseaes like diabetes ,HT CHD
,RF –dialysis,Ca
Pharmacy
• Procuring low cost generic medicine from Jan Aushadhi store
• Reduce “Non availability” of medicine, as employees pay 30%
more for medicines which have to be reimbursed
• “Unused medicines” at Employee end may be collected &
reused
• Costly Antibiotics may be prescribed for shorter
duration.Similar strategy for inhalers & other costly items
• Use of multivitamin,honey based cough syrup etc. should be
discouraged
Referral management
• All specialities should be present,so that minimum referral
• CISF personnel should be referred to Govt hospital or CGHS
empanelled hospital---separate MOU for CISF personnel,
CGHS card
Health Management
• More stress on Health promotion activities,health awareness
programs
• Identification of chronic diseases patients-high risk,high cost
group-special focus-to be considered separately in
expenditure
• PRMS
• Canteen menu should be more Nutritionally balanced
• Gur distribution may be stopped-more Diabetes cases
• Nutritionally balanced snacks in official meetings

• Updation of Entitled beneficiary data-Dependents,frequent
mobilization of CISF/UPL /KV employees ,continuetaking

from allopathic medicines for trivial ailments

Pharmacy • Procuring low cost generic medicine from Jan Aushadhi store • Reduce “Non availability” of medicine, as employees pay 30% more for medicines which have to be reimbursed • “Unused medicines” at Employee end may be collected & reused • Costly Antibiotics may be prescribed for shorter duration.Similar strategy for inhalers & other costly items • Use of multivitamin,honey based cough syrup etc. should be discouraged
  • 66. Referral management • All specialities should be present,so that minimum referral • CISF personnel should be referred to Govt hospital or CGHS empanelled hospital---separate MOU for CISF personnel, CGHS card
  • 67. Health Management • More stress on Health promotion activities,health awareness programs • Identification of chronic diseases patients-high risk,high cost group-special focus-to be considered separately in expenditure • PRMS • Canteen menu should be more Nutritionally balanced • Gur distribution may be stopped-more Diabetes cases • Nutritionally balanced snacks in official meetings Eg.fruits,green tea,lemon water,coconut water etc
