2. Gender
In my thriller I have represented teenaged girls. The
main character is female and is the victim of an
abduction. We show how girls can be extremely
vulnerable and innocent.
The antagonist in our film is male, and although his
identity is hidden by a mask, we show the power that
men typically have in films. He is the one in control.

3. Places
The first location in our thriller is a graveyard which we
used to represent death. This is significant in our film
because the storyline could be interpreted in different
ways through this location. Our intention was that the
victim was visiting a family members grave, and she will
be killed in the same way as her family member.

4. Abductor
The abductor could be representing different social
groups. Maybe he is in a gang, or maybe he has a
mental illness. He could be reliving a personal
experience that happened to him when he was
younger. The use of a large range of weapons could
show that the abductor has a mental illness because
perhaps he wants to harm the girl in lots of different
ways. Also, he wore a mask, which was intended to
show that he is part of an ideology that kill fathers’ and
daughters’ in the same manner.

5. Victim
The victim comes from a middle class family. Her
father has recently been killed by a group of
psychopaths. She is therefore extremely
vulnerable.
