Benjamin Knott majors in business at Furman University and plays on the
university’s club baseball team. His love of the game extends into the
summers, when he works as a staff member at The Official Red Sox Team
Store in Boston. Throughout the year, Benjamin Knott effectively splits his
time between work, sports, and academic responsibilities.
3. Studying Effectively in College
Effective studying during college begins with taking good notes in class,
which involves maintaining the notes from each class in the same notebook
and writing down as many of the instructor’s pertinent points as possible. It is
important to put into your notes any information the instructor highlights on
a whiteboard or PowerPoint presentation. The instructor likely considers that
information most vital.
4. Studying Effectively in College
Studying ahead of the lecture schedule keeps students from falling behind
and allows for plenty of time to ask the instructor about information that is
unclear. Reviewing notes every day for at least 30 minutes also keeps
students up-to-date on information and further allows for the identification
of unclear points.
