3. PERFORMANCE
• Due to the slightly husky
quality of the singer‟s voice, I
think that the song would suit
being based in a smoky bar. I
can also envisage an old
fashioned microphone
because of the quality of the
voice.
• There would be a section of
the bar where the band are
playing, with smoke all
around them.
4. • I think that the the bad
would be in dark clothes
that blend in to the bleak
bar background, where
nothing stands out.
5. Lip Sync
• The beginning of the song sounds like
country music, as we can hear brass
instruments and other instruments typical
of that genre. As I first heard this I
immediately envisioned the singer around
haystacks. This contrasts with the bar,
possibly too much. We could avoid this stark
contrast by making it the evening so it‟s not
too bright.
6. • The singer could be surrounded by other
people playing these typically „country‟
instruments.
7. Narrative
• The narrative will be a
flashback to a time where the
main singer had a fight with his
girlfriend in a stark/bare
room/bedroom. Some parts
could be in slow motion as I
think that a slow motion
scream could look very
effective. The lyrics say
“Goodbye baby” “Yes I‟m
going”. So he would eventually
leave her and walk away. At the
end of the song, she can walk
back into bar. They catch eyes
– and then the video ends.
8. Stylistic
• The smoky bar is a strong theme. We could
have some images of the people in the bar
watching them, doing their own thing, and
shots of people smoking and contributing to
the haziness.
9. • Similarly, we could get shots from people
laughing around the haystacks.
