1. As the 1992, elections approached President Bush focused his
attention more on domestic issues and problems such as
economic recession, unemployment, crime, education and
health care. In 1992 Bush lost his bid for reelection to
Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton, who became the 42nd
President and who stayed in the White House for two terms
Though he made a lot for the prosperity of the USA, his name
is connected with a great scandal concerning his private life.
2. George Walker Bush served as the 43rd President of
the USA from2001 to 2009. He is the eldest son of
President George Bush who was the 41st President.
Bush is the second president to have been the son
of a former President. (The first was John Quincy
Adams)
Eight month into his first term as President, the
September, 11, 2001 terrorist attack occurred. In
response, Bush announced the War on Terror, an
international military campaign which included the
war in Afghanistan (2001) and the war in Iraq
(2003).
Though Bush was popular with the USA during his
first term, his popularity declined sharply during
the second term.
3. Barack Hussein Obama II became the
44th President of the USA. He is the
first African American President. He
was named the 2009 Nobel Peace
Prize laureate. He was re-elected in
November 2012.
