EXCELLENCE THROUGH INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
DESCRIPTION
An Instructor Continuing Training Workshop on promoting excellence through Instructional Leadership.
This one (1) day workshop shines a spotlight on the importance of instructors as role models of the training conscience.
Participants will experience student focused activities, small group sessions, and hands-on application techniques. Through
provoking discussions and opportunities for reflection and collaboration, participants will make the connection between the role of
the instructor as inspirational leaders of learning and performance excellence.
TRAINING OUTCOMES
Participants will determine instructor leadership attributes that effectively drive student learning.
Participants will evaluate effective questioning techniques to promote discovery based learning.
Participants will articulate how to leverage the organization’s mission and values to motivate students.
Participants will discuss methods to demonstrate leadership attributes in instructional settings.
Participants will revise existing lesson plans to generate inspiring and motivating student focused learning activities.
Participants will defend the instructor’s role as the training conscience of the organization.
Audrey Cate Lanier, M.Ed has more than 20 years of experience in education and training. With a B.A. in Secondary and Adult
Education, and a M.Ed in Educational Leadership, Audrey brings a strong background in educational theory and instructional design to
The Westwind Group training consultant team. She has been described as "energetic, polished, student-focused, and a master
facilitator who demonstrates with excellence the skills she promotes in her workshops." Among her accomplishments, Audrey has
received the recognition of Best of CONTE in 2013 and Best of CONTE in 2015 for her presentation on The Affective Domain and
Nuclear Training. She has presented her Affective Domain training to nuclear engineering professors and graduate students at The
University of Tennessee at Knoxville, the Regional Center of Nuclear Education and Training, and at the MANTG Conference. Audrey
offers custom designed Instructor Continuing Training at various nuclear utilities and leadership development topics including Coaching
Conversations, Inspiring and Mentoring Others, and Mission and Vision Planning.
