Project:
Social
Determinants
in
Health:
At
Healthy
Campus
we
really
focus
on
making
Clemson
a
safe
place.
I
can
relate
the
social
determinant
from
the
healthy
places
category,
safety
from
violence
and
crime
to
my
internship.
During
my
internship
my
main
project
involved
making
a
bystander
intervention
program
to
start
implementing
in
Fall
2017.
The
program
focused
on
teaching
students
active
bystander
intervention
skills
so
they
can
help
keep
Clemson
a
safe
place.
The
bystander
intervention
program
is
important
to
keep
Clemson
a
safe
and
healthy
place
because
it
causes
students
to
feel
more
responsible
for
their
safety
and
the
safety
of
their
peers.
At
Healthy
Campus
we
also
focus
on
making
sure
students
have
information
on
all
of
the
resources
they
need
to
stay
safe
at
Clemson.
Another
project
I
worked
on
a
lot
this
semester
involved
rewriting
and
arranging
the
Aspire
to
be
well
program
curriculum.
In
the
curriculum
we
spend
a
lot
of
time
emphasizing
the
available
resources
Clemson
has
to
offer
on
campus
to
keep
students
safe
and
healthy
such
as
CUPD,
CAPs,
and
Healthy
Campus
in
general.
Organizational
Behavior
and
Governance:
Some
structures
that
are
really
crucial
to
the
services
provided
at
Healthy
Campus
are
convenience
for
students
and
information
that
is
relatable,
easy
to
understand
and
programs
that
actively
engage
student
participation.
At
healthy
campus
we
accomplish
this
by
adding
information
into
our
programs
that
is
relevant
to
Clemson
students
and
we
try
to
use
Clemson
related
data.
We
make
our
programs
convenient
by
placing
a
time
limit
on
the
programs
we
offer
to
less
than
one
hour.
We
also
place
printed
materials
in
convenient
locations
in
buildings
so
we
know
students
will
be
able
to
see
them.
We
make
the
programs
engaging
by
having
a
lot
of
discussion
questions
integrated
and
we
try
to
make
the
presentations
visually
entertaining.
If
I
could
change
one
thing
about
our
organizational
practice
I
would
try
to
market
our
health
topic
programs
more.
We
have
health
programs
we
offer
but
a
lot
of
students
and
organizations
don’t
know
about
them.
I
think
we
would
be
able
to
reach
more
students
if
we
marketed
them
better
in
the
future.
Health
Promotion
and
Education
Concentration:
In
a
University
setting
a
major
public
health
issue
involves
alcohol
and
other
drug
use
among
students.
Alcohol
and
drug
use
are
personal
behavior
choices
and
since
they
are
very
relevant
on
college
campuses,
Healthy
Campus
does
a
lot
of
educational
programs
on
Alcohol
and
other
drugs.
We
focus
the
programs
on
making
sure
students
know
outcomes
that
can
occur
if
you
use
alcohol
or
other
drugs
such
as
physical
health
issues,
emotional
issues
or
even
legal
issues.
We
also
provide
educational
programs
on
physical
activity,
stress
reduction
tips
and
eating
healthy
since
these
are
also
major
personal
behavior
choices
seen
on
college
campuses.
