Force Table Lab
Students use Force Table
to take measurements of
how a large force can be
balanced with multiple
component forces
Makes use of trigonometry
to balance force caused by
heavy weight with resultant
force caused by
combination of two smaller
weights
In this lab students place increasing amounts of
weight on hook attached to hanging side of pulley and
use a motion sensor to measure the acceleration of
moving cart.
Students graph acceleration of cart vs. the different
masses, compare expects accelerations and forces vs.
measures accelerations and computed forces from
graphs.
 Projectile Motion labs to show no relationship
between horizontal motion and the force of
    gravity
 The use of scales to show how forces can be
measured and derived from spring calibrated
    devices.
 Experiment consisting of two students who
push scales together to prove the Newton’s 3rd
    law
