4. Force Table Lab
Students use Force Table
to take measurements of
how a large force can be
balanced with multiple
component forces
Makes use of trigonometry
to balance force caused by
heavy weight with resultant
force caused by
combination of two smaller
weights
5. In this lab students place increasing amounts of
weight on hook attached to hanging side of pulley and
use a motion sensor to measure the acceleration of
moving cart.
Students graph acceleration of cart vs. the different
masses, compare expects accelerations and forces vs.
measures accelerations and computed forces from
graphs.
6. Projectile Motion labs to show no relationship
between horizontal motion and the force of
gravity
The use of scales to show how forces can be
measured and derived from spring calibrated
devices.
Experiment consisting of two students who
push scales together to prove the Newton’s 3rd
law
