4. THE WORKING CLASS
DURING our induction task we have learned how the working lass is
represented within the film pride. The film shows that working class
people can both be prejuidiced against different groups of people and
can be accepted within the working class attitudes. this is show through
paddy considines character as he is able to accept that the gay
commuinity is there to help the minors. This is shown through his
speech and he suggests that “a friendship has been formed”. However,
the film shows the representation of the working class being gobbish
and unaccepted. This is introduced through the scene in which the gays
are shown to give a speech to the town hall. However, the film does
represents owen jones theory of how the working class being described
as chavs, and how they are represented to be bad people within the
media and how that feeds it peoples stereotypes of the working class,
as well as not showing them to be hard working, as well as showing that
they are not able to provide for their family as they rely on the
donations from the gay group within the film. This is denoted within the
film as during the ending of the film they are shown to go to the pride
event and have accepted the gay commuinity as equals.

• Meditation can be shown in pride as the film as been
meditated in order to convey a stronger message. The film has
also been shown to mediate the situation of the working class
and the gay commuinities. The film shows the gay commuinity
to be always uplifting, therefore conveying the film to have a
more feel good vibe, With the working class commuinity they
are shown not be necessarily desperate within the film, yet
are also shown to have more of a community cohesion within
the mining commuinity. This further conveys how more of an
uplifing vibe rather than it being more tensionful filled.
6. How to lower sounds volume
• We used introductory music into our radio presentation. In
order for the radio presenter to be heard we lowered down
the volume of the music as the radio presenter started to
speak. Because we learned to lower the sound it meant we
were able to replicate how a radio show would present its
points across within the radio show. My muting the
surrounding audio clips we were able to dip the volume of the
audio clip by clicking onto separate parts of the clip and
dipping the volume of the music in order for when the
presenter starts to speak.
7. Using sound levels
• During our induction task we learned how to match the sound
voumes of the separate pieces of audio. We did tis by separate
and editing the audio pieces together and by lowering the
volume of an ending piece odf audio in order to introduce a
new piece of audio. We did this through how we learned to
lower the sound volumes shown on the previous page.
