Eagle's Eye Leadership - Leveraging with IT.pdf
1. Eagle’s Eye – Leadership – Leveraging with IT!!!
Keeping mind open to change all the time. Welcome it. Court it. It is only examining and reexamining
our opinions and ideas that we can progress.
India’s position established in first 4 world countries, pioneering in space research, ISRO post Chandrayaan
2 and Mangalyaan, can be one face of the story. Highly Touched leadership of Mr. Prime Minstar, to put
human emotional touch in difficult times of his Technocrat Team. Hard & Difficult part of the story also
coexists, which could no longer be ignored be Current recession and economic disruption which has
shaken the world. Telecoms, Automobiles, Aeronautics & Aviation, banking, FMCG continues to bleed the
industries. Advent of Chinese supremacy projects, cut throat pricing models, dollar diplomacy, Season of
Layoff’s prevail all over the industries.
With advent of new political environment in Indian Sub-continent, the business environment has grown
dramatically more intense. Competition has become more global and more energized. Technology,
technocracy races on full swing. With the advent of Companies & Technology leaders like Tesla & Elen
Musk, we probably would be first generation to see, may be dusk of OIL Diplomat countries (Gulfs), Dawn
of Hyperloop Vehicles etc.
A research from US Independent agency expressed, Companies find levels of employee engagement fall
between 30–35%, while the remainder of employees are left highly un-engaged. Engagement statistics
further revealed, 29% of the workforce is engaged, 45% are not, 26% are actively disengaged. While
enticements as the potential for promotion are available tools to motivate, these tools do not drive the
basic human need of motivating employees to participate & remain highly engaged. “How might we re-
frame the role of a leader to create an environment that empowers and enables employees to
participate at higher rates?” Companies with engaged employees outperform those who do not by 202%.
A recent article, “Understanding New Power”, published in the 2014 of Harvard Business Review,
discusses the new versus old power principles of leadership and how new power is challenging traditional
leadership models. Can we utilize, the engagement of social media to organizational benefit at the same
time remain compliance.
2. Sun Set of Pyramid Leadership:
It was a feature based on law of land, to get things executed in predefined top view structure, however
executives, managers and leaders who wish to perform beyond, out of the box performance, in present
challenging scenarios, need to recognize even pyramids are tumbling down, as if slaves of ancient Egypt
returned and carting away the stones.
No longer can business safely ignore their
customer’s (internal or external) wants,
needs or opinions. No longer can managers
can simply issue orders and expected them
to be mindlessly obeyed. No longer can
personal relationship be taken for granted.
No longer can companies be less than
obsessed with constant quality
improvement. No longer can so much human creativity go so scandalously untapped.
To survive in years to come, successful organizations, Executives, Managers & Professionals – in business,
in government, in the nonprofit world – will have to undergo a profound cultural change. Their people
will have to think quicker, work smarter, dream wilder and relate to each other in very different ways.
Putting in words of our Revered founder Dhiru bhai as - Think big, think fast, think ahead ideas are no
one’s monopoly. This is a legacy statement for us.
Most important, this cultural change will require a whole new
breed of leader, a leader quite unlike the bosses most of us have
worked and some of us have perhaps become. The days passed
when a company could be run with a bull whip and a chair.
The leaders of today have to establish a real vision and a sense of
values for the organizations who wish to lead. These leaders must
communicate and inspire far more effectively than of the past. They
will have to keep their wits about them through conditions of near-
constant change. And these new leaders will have to mine every ounce of talent and creativity that their
organization possess – from the shop floor to the executive suite.
3. Time to recognize The Real Leaders & The Real Influencers!!!
Ideas are no one’s monopoly, Said Rev. Dhirubhai as a visionary. Mere management is not enough
anymore. The world is too unpredictable, too volatile, too fast-moving for uninspired approach of new
era of leaders. What’s needed now is something much deeper, the Leadership, to help people achieve
what they are capable of, to establish new vision for the future, to encourage, to coach and to mentor
and to establish and maintain successful relationships.
When business environment becomes volatile, when the waters are uncharted, when mission requires
greater flexibility than you ever imagined it would – that’s when leadership skills, knowledge of tools
become more critical. The change is already taking place, I am not sure how many in organizations, who
are capable of being leaders are ready for it.
New level and style of leadership propose to listen to the team members, get connected with cross
sectional team members. As next level of performance will come through next level of connectedness,
next level of consciousness our collective consciousness.
Many people still have a lean understanding of what leadership really is. You say, “Leader” and they think
General Manager, President, Prime minister or chairman of the board. Apparently, people in those exalted
positions are expected lead, an expectation they meet with varying levels of success. However fact of the
matter is that leadership does not begin and end at the very top only. It is every bit as important, perhaps
more important, in the places most of us live and work. Organizing a small work team, energizing an
office support staff, keeping things happy, organised and inspired at home or office – those are front lines
of leadership. Leadership may not be easy, however thankfully to JIO IT offers instruments to Lead and
something else is also true. Every one of us has the potential to be leader every day. Leveraging right gears
& tools available at our disposal gives you an edge to perform complex looking tasks smartly (over hardly)
and further effectively comprising heterogeneous squads.
How to make this achievable!!! Does Leading from IT paraphernalia provide innovative view!!
Jio IT very subtly and innovatively offers new suits of apparatuses, platforms to empower leaders at every
corner of the organisation day in day out. These are not just spread sheets – excel, E-Mails or WordPad’s.
However they are much more capable enough to empower even field executive, engineer, Manager of
organization to deliver with power of leader. The power to COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY. Nothing can be
easier than failing to communicate effectively. Power to communicate and connect well is where the key
strength lies for leaders of tomorrow.
One drive, Yammer, Office 365, One Note, Citrix, Teams, Jio Meet
Video conference tool.
It is imperative for such executive who wants to leads to ask
following question to himself. Are we getting aligned towards cloud
collaboration approach?
These are series of new tools, which inherently, propose
collaboration within the company, keeping the collaborative assets
intact. Allow participative approach, power of social media, from all
4. corners of organization, active involvement of bottom line, cloud computing and also compliance to
organization.
Jio IT MP has taken active finest efforts in upgrading systems and platforms to new levels, to milk the
advantages of participative leadership, from each individual or member of organization. Leadership more
by influence instead of authority. Higher levels of engagements & Self-support models.
Way forward for Prospective Leaders of Industries:
Eagle’s Eye approach: During rainy seasons, all the birds fly down to search the safe low zones of
shelter. Eagle tries to go beyond clouds. Rescission, Economic slowdowns, Layoff seasons are the
period to grow and learn patiently. To go through uncharted areas. New Tools of IT provide vast
variety of opportunities. To explore in the work you already are doing. Learning to add quality, with
flavour or Cloud Computing, AI, Project Management, ITIL V3, Six Sigma concepts may enrich, those
who wish to fly high skies even in shallow water times.
Identify Leader in you: Every member of organization today has all capability to exhibit leadership
qualities in his/her domain. New tools of Office 365, One
Drive, Yammer, Microsoft Teams, JioMeet Video Confrere

you already are doing, Utilizing these tools for
collaboration and making their collaborative assets well

the process and ways of working, review the subtle processes of active listening from potential
influencers in various models, for the rising, upcoming leaders, collaborate, utilize real engagement
power – from far situated employees, who may be close to customer or core of the fields or
operations.
