This document summarizes two research papers that were presented at the International Conference on Advances & Challenges in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management in 2017. The first paper discusses the design and analysis of a propeller shaft using finite element analysis to model composite materials like carbon fiber. The second paper proposes an algorithm to optimize the placement of content and routing of requests between public and private clouds to minimize costs while meeting response time constraints. Both papers examine using advanced materials and cloud computing technologies to improve engineering systems.
