In the modernworldeverythingbecomesclose toeveryone becauseof the improvementinthe science
& technologyandalsointhe research& development.The new innovationchangesthe life style of
commonman for the dynamicenvironmenttomeetwithsocial needsineverysphere of life.The faster
mode of communicationthatcan be provide asolutionrapidchangesinthe businessscenario.Before a
telephonewasconsideredtobe an extraordinarythingandstatussymbol;butnow most of the people
are usingbasictelephoneserviceswhichalsomobilephone hasbecome apartof day todaylife.InIndia
cellularphoneswere introducedandreaches the large sectionof the societywithconnectedbycellular
networkincludingremote villagesalso.Afterthe inceptionof liberalizationpolicy,manyprivate
operatorhas playedvital role improvingthe infrastructure facilitiesandhighlyfocusedonthe customer
needandwants.From the customerpointof view hasfacedmanyissuesrelatingtocoverage,service
quality,newtariff plansandvalue addedservicesattachedbythe mobileservice providers.The study
aimsin determiningthe perceptionlevel of consumerstowardsBSNLcoveringthe Bhavani Townin
Erode District.
4. NEED FOR THE STUDY
perceptionisthe primarygoal of everybusinessorganization.Inthiscompetitivebusinessscenario
everyactivitiesbeginsandendswiththe customerneed.Now, the telecommunicationisthe most
appropriate industryandinvolveseverybusinessactivities.Manyprivate operatorshasinvolvedinthis
industrywere prevailedastiff competitionbetweenthe service providers.Inspite of a well-established
networkandinfrastructure supporting,certainservice providersweren'table toroottheirfootstepsin
the marketdue to lack incustomerservice andsatisfaction.Thus,ithasa marginal difference between
the servicesrendered,expectationof the consumerandmore possibilitytoswitchfromone
