Introduction and Objectives of the
study
A nancial statement is an organized collection of data according to logical and
consistent accounting procedures. Its purpose is to convey an understanding of
some nancial aspects of a business rm. It may show a position at a moment of
time as in the case of a balance sheet, or may reveal a series of activities over a
given period of time, as in the case of an income statement. Thus, the term
nancial statement generally refers to the basis statements; i) The income
statement ii) The balance sheet iii) A statement of retained earnings iv) A
statement of charge in nancial position in addition to the above two statement.
Objective of the Study: 1. To analyse the nancial statements of Hindalco
Industries Limited for the last ve years. 2. To see whether the organization is
prepared with enough working capital to face any kind of contingencies. 3. To
compare the performance of last ve years. 4. To analyze various working capital
ratios for last ve years.
Problem Statement (including
Literature Review)
Financial statements are of utmost requirement to help in nancial decisions
taken by the Financial Manager’s to cope with the day to day requirements to
run the business and to forecast the nancial e ects for planning, controlling and
maintaining the budget. To understand the information contained in nancial
statements with a view to know the strength or weaknesses of the rm and to
make forecast about the future prospects of the rm and thereby enabling the
nancial analyst to take di erent decisions regarding the operations of the rm.
The purpose of this project is to examine the trends in nancial statements of
Hindalco Industries Limited, how is it being managed and its impact on the
performance of Hindalco Industries Ltd. during the period of 2012-17.
Methodology and References Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It
may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scienti cally.

2. So, the research methodology not only talks about the research methods but
also considers the logic behind the method used in the context of the research
study. The required data for the study will be basically secondary in nature and
the data will be collected from the audited reports of the company. The sources
of data will be from the annual reports of the company from the year 2012-13 to
