1982 Vasanthamani
In her study âThe Financial Performance of Lakshmi Machine Works Limitedâ, she
found that, the liquidity position of the company showed that the company was
able to meet the creditors out of its own current assets. The quick ratio also
revealed that the quick liabilities were met at of quick assets without any difficulty.
1990 Rajeswary
In her study entitled â Financial Performance of Precot Mills Limitedâ has
concluded that the financial position and operating efficiency of the company was
satisfactory where as the margin or safely was not stable solvency position was not
satisfactory and the earning capacity was minimum.
1999 Sardeesh Babu
In his study âA Study on Financial Performance of Fertilizers and Chemicals
Travancore Limitedâ, he found that, the current assets can be managed efficiently
by examining the material holding and stock holding procedure and pattern. If the
company increase its turnover and reduces its cost, the profit will increase leading
to an increases in the growth rate of sales, profit before tax and profit after tax.
2000 Anil Kumar
In his study on âFinancial Performance of Hindustan Motors Limited, Cochinâ, he
found that the sales of the company were showing an upward trend which
reflected a growth in its profit. The tools use by him were ratio analysis, the
companyâs financial position is favourable.

- Founded in 1942. It was set up as a partnership firm by four friends who were
willing to take on the world's biggest, most famous paint companies operating in
India at that time.
- Indiaâs largest & Asiaâs second largest paint company.
- Turnover of âš 155.34 billion, operating in 19 countries & having 26 paint
manufacturing facilities in the world, servicing consumers in 65 countries.
- Asian Paints Industrial Coatings Limited has been set up to cater the powder
coatings market which is one of the fastest growing segments in the industrial
coatings market.
- "Asian Paints Industrial Coatings Limited" is a name given to a subsidiary stood
up by the joint venture of Asian Paints & PPG Industries. The company is 50:50
joint venture between Asian Paints Ltd. & PPG Industries, USA.

ī Interest of various related groups is affected by the financial performance of a firm.
Therefore, these groups analyze the financial performance of the firm. The type of analysis
varies according to the specific interest of the party involved.
ī Trade creditors: interested in the liquidity of the firm (appraisal of firmâs liquidity)
ī Bond holders: interested in the cash-flow ability of the firm (appraisal of firmâs capital
structure, the major sources and uses of funds, profitability over time, and projection of
future profitability)
ī Investors: interested in present and expected future earnings as well as stability of these
earnings (appraisal of firmâs profitability and financial condition)
ī Management: interested in internal control, better financial condition and better
performance (appraisal of firmâs present financial condition, evaluation of opportunities in
relation to this current position, return on investment provided by various assets of the
company, etc)

employees to express their hidden talent like Poetry, Essay writing,
Drawing etc.
ī The firm also applies 5 S Japanese system, to complement its work.
ī Under the training period it has been observed that there is good co-
ordination among departmental heads & their work.
24. ī Analyse the general & industry economic condition, for changes in
income.
ī Set goals for Costs & Expenses as percentage of Sales.
ī Reduce overall operating costs.
ī Designing new products.
ī Analyse Profit Margin on each product.

SUGGESTIONS
25. ī By the research & findings, it can be concluded that if properly analyzed
& interpreted the financial statements i.e., Trend Analysis, Common-size
Statement analysis, Comparative Statement analysis & ratio analysis can
provide valuable insight into a firm's performance.
ī It may be done for a variety of purpose. It helps the firm to know their
strength & weakness in various areas.
ī It is helpful in an increasing corporate excellence, judging credit
worthiness as well as market risk.
ī The firm has an increasing trend of Dividend Payout ratio which indicates
firm's sound earning capacity, thus from overall research it can be
concluded for the investors to consider Asian Paints for investment
purpose & make BUY decision for its share, as it show abounding future.
