2. • Sciencists have identified nearly two million of
Earth´s species, but they believe there are
actually many more .To classify all living things
we study their cellular structure and their
nutrition.Acoording to this creiteria there are
five kingdoms:
3. THE PLANT KINGDOM
• Plants are multicellular living things that make
their own food. They make their food through
photosynthesis.
They cannot move becausetheir roots are
fixed to the ground.
4.
5. THE ANIMAL KINGDOM
• Animals are multicellular living things that
feed on other living things.
Most animals move to for age for food to find
shelter or to escape predators.
6.
7. THE ALGA AND PROTISTA KINGDOM
• Algae
Algae can be unicellular or multicellular. They
make their own food but have no true tissues
or organs.
• Protozoa
Protozoa are unicellular living things that feed
on other living things.
Examples of protozoaare amoebas and
paramecium.
8.
9. THE FUNGUS KINGDOM
• There are multicellular fungi, such as
mushrooms and moulds ,and unicellular ones
,such as yeasts.
Fungi do not have tissues or organs. They do
not produce their own food, but feed to the
remains of other living things.
In addition,fungi,like plants,cannot move.
10.
11. THE BACTERIA KINGDOM
• Bacteria are the simpest organisms on
Earth. They are unicellular and are so small
that they only visible through a microscope.
The cells have no defined nucleus,so the
internal components are dispersed in the
cytoplasm.Most have a cell wall.
