2. NATURAL VEGETATION
India is one of the 12 mega bio-diversity countries of the
World. With about 47,000 plant species India occupies 10th
place in the world and fourth in Asia in plant diversity.there
are about 15,000 flowering plant in india ,which account for
6% in the world total no. of flowering plants. The countries
has many non-flowering plants.India also has approx
90,000 species of animal,as well as,a rich variety of fish in
its fresh and marine water.
3. VIRGIN VEGITATION
Natural vegitation refers to a plant community , which has
grown naturally without human aids and has been left
undisturbed by human for long time . This is termed as virgin
vegetation .thus , cultivated crops and fruits ,orchards form part
of vegetation but not natural vegetation.
4. FLORA AND FAUNA

• Flora refers to the plant
life found in a particular
region . It is naturally
occurring or the
indigenous native plant
life.
FAUNA
• The tern fauna represents
all the animal found in a
particular region at
particular time these are
naturally occuring animal
species
5. relief
land
Vegatation depends upon the nature of the land that’s why
the agriculture id devotyed in fertile land not in a rough
and undulating.
Soil
Soil gives basis to vegetataion which helps them tfor
support. Different type of soil provide basis to differernt
type of vegetation.
6. climate
Temprature
The vegetation is not only determined by the temprature but it
also determined by the humidity in air, soil and precipitation. The
fall in temprature affect the vegetation and its growth and
change it from tropical to sub-tropical to temprature and Alpine
vegetation.
Precipitation
In India,The entire rainfall is brought by advancing southwest
moonsoon and retreating northeast moonsoon. An area with a
heavy rainfall have more dense vegetation where as an area
which gets less rainfall have less dense vegetation.
7. climate
Photoperiod (Sunlight)
The variationj in duration in sunlight different places is due
to differences in latitude, altitude, season and duration of
the day.
8. Why forest are
important ?
1.Forerst are reneawble resources and play a major role in
enhancing the quality of enviroment.
2.They modify local climnate ,control soil erosion, regulate
stream flow, Support a variety of industries, provide
livelihood for many communities.
3.They control wind force and temprature and cause rain.
They also provide humus to the soil and give shelther to
the wildlife.
9. TYPES OF VEGETATION
There are 5 major type of vegetation found in our country
• Tropical Evergreen Forest
• Tropical Decidious Forest
• Tropical Thorn Forest & Scrubs
• Montane Forest
• Mangrove Forest
