APNIC Labs collects extensive IPv6 measurement data by
using Google’s advertising platform
●
The ‘ads’ allow for determining IPv6 capability/preference
on a per-client basis
●
For example, an ‘ad’ might point to a name that has both A
and/or AAAA records in DNS, with logs used to determine
which was used

●
Data is about Internet end users, not business backends
or raw bandwidth
●
Inferences based on subsequent requests can be
subverted by bad actors
