It was co-founded by Sabriye Tenberken
and Paul Kronenberg in 2009

without Borders Charitable Trust (BWB)
3. offers a 7 month, scholarship based
leadership program for visionaries.
Some have little to no formal education
Some are blind or physically disabled
Some university degrees people
others have no disabilities at all
What is important is a sense of
ownership, motivation, creativity, talent
and passion to make the world a better
place.

To provide an incubator and spring board
for visionaries who are able to transform
concepts and conventions, by offering
specially developed, high quality and
relevant leadership training.
5. Green kanthari - Initiator
Green Kanthari initiators want to create
ethical social change by starting grassroot
projects with innovative approaches.
Schools for marginalized, training centers
for the blind, environmental projects are
only some of many examples of initiatives
that make the world a better place
6. Yellow kanthari - Inventor
Yellow kantharis create new products,
strategies or concepts for social change.
They can be active in the areas of
environment, computer technology,
accessibility for people with disabilities,
agriculture, education and many more.
The goal of their invention is to improve
the living conditions of marginalized
groups or protect the environment.
7. Orange kanthari - Social entrepreneur
Kanthari entrepreneurs use business as a
tool for sustainable social change.
The goal is not to make profit, but to use
business to find ways to create structures
that benefit those who are usually left
out.
8. Red kanthari - Advocate
Red kantharis fight for a world free from
discrimination, negative attitudes or
harmful norms.
Their goal is to provoke a mind set change
in their communities through advocacy.
9. Purple kanthari - Artists
kanthari artists use their creativity and art
as a tool for making a difference.
Musicians, painters, authors, film makers
and many more provoke a positive mind
set change through their work.
10. Jane is a person living with Albinism. This means
that she lacks melanin and her skin is white.
In East Africa it is believed that possessing a body
part of an Albino brings good luck.
Therefore Albinos are killed and their body parts
sold for lots of money.
Jane is a 2009 kanthari graduate Since her return
home she has been fighting for the rights of
Albinos.
Over the past 5 years we trained 98 participants
from 35 countries. The graduates have started over
65 projects and initiatives and reach thousands of
beneficiaries
