1. Guidelines for Submitting Equity Research Report (ERR)
1) This is based on your
a. Investment lab: Choice of industry and data collection of 2 selective companies.
b. Equity Analysis Submission: Equity valuation and relative comparison of selected 2
companies
2) Your equity research report will be linked to yours’ and other students’ portfolio construction as
the students would be restricted to create a portfolio of selected 26 industries and 260 stocks in
their final evaluation submission. Your equity research reports will be viewed by all the students.
Based on the quality of your work other students may take your company to their
portfolio giving you value addition. So your equity research reports should be of qualitative in
nature so that it attracts fellow students to know more about it. This is useful in your portfolio
submissions.
3) Students who had a problem in availability or reliability of the data in your equity analysis /
valuation submission may change their companies but in the same industry. Any changes
should be mentioned in the first page of the equity research report itself. But remember
collecting and analyzing the data of new companies will consume extra time and efforts.
4) Your equity research report should contain all the information including
a. Economic analysis
b. Industry analysis
c. Company analysis
d. Equity Valuation
e. Market Analysis
f. Market commentary / review / snapshot.
5) Access the research reports of various companies available on moodle for understanding of
style, structure, size, composition, flow etc of a equity research report.
6) Students have to submit 2 ERR of 2 individual companies in PDF format only. Submission in
other types of files will not be accepted. Don’t submit of ERRs of 2 companies in 1 PDF
file.
7) Equity research report should be submitted on or before 26th
of Aug 2013.
8) As mentioned in the course plan the submission has 20 marks. Following are the subdivisions
of the evaluation for 5 marks each.
a. Economic and industry analysis

c. Market analysis and review
d. Report style, composition, structure, size, flow, formatting, submission on deadline, type
