2. WHERE DID THEY MEET?
• My grandparents met in a skating ring, near Menorca’s football
pitch where they were dancing.
• My grandparents met at Port of Sóller beach. My grandfather was
swimming while he was doing the military service and my
grandmother was walking near him.
• My great-grandparents met in front of their house because they
were neighbours

3. WHEN DID THEY MEET? HOW OLD WERE THEY?
• They met the summer that they were 18 years old.
• They met the summer of 1963. My grandfather was 22 years old
and my grandmother was 18.
• They met when he went to live near her house. They were 16 and
18 years old.

4. DID ANYONE INTRODUCE THEM?
• In my grandparents story no, they were a group of girls and a
group of guys and they asked to dance each other.
• My grandmother’s friend introduced them because she knew my
grandfather
• No, anyone because they were neighbours and they saw each
other every day.

5. HOW LONG DID THEY GO OUT?
• My grandparetns went out for10 years before getting married
because in Menorca people didn’t get married before they have
the complete house, with all furniture and they bougth it little by
little.
• They went out for one and a half years before they got married.
• They went out for 5 or 6 years because when they were about
getting married, he had to go to the war.

6. WHAT KIND OF WEDDING DID THEY HAVE? WHAT
WAS THE WEDDING DRESS LIKE?
They had a religious wedding because in
Spain civil weddings were forbidden because
of Franco’s dictatorship.
My grandmother wore a white and long
dress with a long veil. The dress was neklined
for the back and notching in the wasteline.
She wore a upsweep with a diadem.

7. WHAT KIND OF WEDDING DID THEY HAVE?
WHAT WAS THE WEDDING DRESS LIKE?
• They had religious wedding.
• They got married at 11:00 in the
morning. After they got married they
went to a restaurant by bus and in the
restaurant they ate chocolate with
cake and champagne.
• My grandmother’s wedding dress was
very beautiful. It was a white silk
dress with a large tail

WHAT WAS THE DRESS LIKE?
• They had a religious wedding. They
got married at six o’clock in the
morning.
• The dress was black or brown
because white dresses were for the
rich people. She wore a comb.

9. WHERE DID THEY GO ON THEIR HONEYMOON?
They went two days to Fornells. They had
dinner near Juan Carlos I and he told them:
Congratulations!

10. WHERE DID THEY GO ON THEIR HONEYMOON?
My grandparents went to
Barcelona to a friends’ house
My great-grandparents went
two days to Palma

11. WHAT DID PEOPLE GIVE THEM AS A WEDDING
PRESENT?
• My grandparents’ friends gave them seats, a watch for each one,
chandeliers and, in general, things for the house.
• People gave them a cultery, pots and dishes. An old
grandmother’s aunt gave her the fabric of the wedding dress.
• People gave them some cups of coffee, dishes and things like
that.
