Persuasive Essay About School Change
School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist
or continue? Should they radically change? Should teachers get paid more? Should they teach
more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should
they add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements.
What do I think about school? Some people say we shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student,
that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing
us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or
more doing jobs. People think they can learn on their own. So you telling me you can learn other
languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you
really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a
radical change. As the years go by schools are changing (radically). I honestly like looking through
the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion way.
Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I
feel like I learn a lot better that way and memorized it a lot more. Online is a good way of
visualizing it. Teacher should get paid more. You would disagree with this, but do you know why?
Teachers goes through a lot with students, parents, and even other teachers. I can just look into a
teacher's eye and tell their tired of it or stressed out. Students are a pain in the butt. Some students
are difficult to handle. Let's take a minute, let's say this teacher has 7 different classes a day. Let's
say the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have
been acting up lately and their influence the good students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket.
Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal
or call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going
to act or say back in response. Teachers should get paid way more than what they make

Residential Schools Essay
Residential schools were a school system implemented by the government to assimilate children of
aboriginal descent. They were designed to replace the children's culture, traditions, beliefs, and to
"kill the Indian out of them". Schools of this manner have affected over 150 000 children. The first
residential schools were established in the 1880s, a few years after the Indian Act was implemented.
The Indian Act contained many clauses that allowed for residential schools to be built. Aboriginal
children were taken from their families to study at these schools. They were not allowed to speak
their language, acknowledge their culture or beliefs, and removed their heritage. The schools were
incompetent at educating the children, as the teaching provided was inferior...show more content...
Boys had their hair cut short and all students were required to wear school uniforms. The two
genders were always kept separate and siblings were rarely allowed to interact with each other.
Chief Bobby Joseph of the Indian Residential School Survivors Society recalls that he never got to
know his sister "beyond a mere wave at the dining hall". Education, which should be a school's main
goal, was neglected at these schools. The schools were extremely underfunded by the government
and many practical skills were taught instead of academical skills. Girls were sought after to do
domestic tasks, and were taught to cook, clean, sew, and do laundry. Boys were taught carpentry,
smithing, and farming. A large population of the schools only attend for part of the time as the
other time was spent doing unpaid work against their will. Girls were required to do housekeeping,
and boys were required to do general maintenance and agricultural tasks. The jobs were presented to
the students as practical training, however the reason for these jobs was to help run the underfunded

School Environment Essay
Grand Canyon University: EDA: Educational Leadership in a Changing World
There are a lot of factors that affect schools. A few of those factors are: environmental and contextual
issues. It is these two factors that influence or shape the school's climate and community. It takes the
collaboration of our administrators, school improvement team, teachers, parents, students and the
community to bring the change and help needed to advance the vision of the school. A school is
capable of fully functioning at a high level with all of the stakeholders help. Teachers and
administrators are responsible for the environment in which they service the children in. Addressing
the issues is a clear way of saying, I will have...show more content...
Secondly, vandalism is a contextual factor that affects my school. Our school is vandalized every
week by someone and sometimes it seems to happen twice a week. It is difficult to catch the vandals
because it takes place at different times during the day and at different bathrooms or areas without
security cameras. Although it is the expectation of our school not to vandalize school property,
vandalism still happens. It is the administration and teachers' job to attempt to keep the problem
from re–occurring. A possible solution to solve the problem of vandalizing could be a service
learning project (Stenhouse & Jarrett, 2012). A possible reason of prevalent vandalism may be the
students' bored feelings and that his/her potential is not being challenged in the classroom. Possibly,
it is the belief that school is not exciting with values. Students may not be able to express one's anger
when they are upset and choose to express their negative emotion through vandalism. The belief, that
one is able to express his or herself when happy, sad or mad in a positive manner, is an important
component to keeping school property safe. It is important that teachers provide hands on exciting,
interesting activities that stimulate positive behavior. Bullying has become a major issue at this
school. Even with the

Middle School Essay
Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they

School Culture Analysis Essay
Running head: SCHOOL CULTURE ANALYSIS School Culture Analysis Lisa Mack Grand Canyon
University EDA 529 Dr. Tony Elmer July 21, 2009 School Culture Analysis The term school culture
describes the environment that affects the behavior of the entire school community. School culture
can be defined as the quality and character of school life. It is based on patterns of school life
experiences and reflects norms, goals, values, relationships, teaching, leadership practices and the
structure of the organization. Several studies have concurred that student performance is directly
related to school climate. Students in schools with a positive school culture have higher

Such a community is a place where teachers, students, and the stakeholders engage in decision
making, have a shared sense of purpose and will all work together to support the infrastructure that
involves alignment of instructional goals and a vision of learning (MacNeil & Maclin). School
leaders that focus their attention on creating a positive school culture begin with a period of
initiating a school process that focuses on school vision, use of data, shared expectations, and
collaborative teamwork. In order for a positive school culture to be established, the principal must
foster an atmosphere where teachers, students, and parents know where they fit in and how they can
work together to support teaching and learning. Creating a positive school culture requires the
principal to develop a vision of learning that is clearly communicated to the staff and students.
Additionally, principals must create a climate that fosters shared authority and accountability if they
are going to build a positive school culture (MacNeil & Maclin). Establishing a shared
understanding of the definition of school culture with the stakeholders of the school is the first step
in building a positive school culture. Once a shared definition is established, then a school
administrator should next assess the current school culture and devise a plan of action. There are

Persuasive Essay On Building A New School
In recent (and not so recent) years, there has been many conversations about reform throughout
our school and county. This has obviously been somewhat of a controversy in all layers of the
local populus; among teachers, students, parents, and other concerned members of the community.
The reform bill was (in the simplest terms) about whether or not to build a new school. While this
would be great in theory, even though I would not be able to enjoy it as I am graduating this
spring, I feel like it's possibly too much. If we would really like to reform this school then we
should focus not on building a completely new school, but instead focus on fixing the one we have.
The number one best way of improving the school from the inside is focusing on the small things
first. Most people will have a different idea of the best place to start, but I personally think that the
best place is the restrooms.
In 1907 paper towels were invented for use in public restrooms to reduce the risk of spreading
illnesses spread by using normal cloth towels. While we obviously do not have this issue anymore
because we now have options for hand drying beyond a communal cloth hand towel or even paper
towels. Hand dryers came about more recently, having only just under 70 years ago become
popularized, advertised for their water–evaporating capabilities and for being more cost effective
than paper towels. The hype around hand dryers has only snowballed over these 70 years; claims
that hand dryers are

School Improvement Essay
School improvement is transformation. It is one of the most important actions of a school. It is a
process that schools must use with fidelity to ensure that at all students are given the opportunity to
perform and achieve at exemplary levels. School improvement is vital to schools and it is a process
that cannot be done in isolation. It requires team work, collaboration, and constant analysis of data
and setting of goals. School improvement goals focus on how to meet the needs of students.
Addressing the educational needs, funding, and achievement gaps between subgroups is

This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a
mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As we review and synthesize data of a district
for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the
needs of a school. First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school
districts measure up with state and federal accountability. During this process, it is very important
that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams
must refer to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance
indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating improvement strategies. So, after
careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that
will improve student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and
opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the baseline data is important information
to include in the improvement plan.
Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide
continuous improvement of a plan. There are four types of data that will be beneficial to any team
during the planning phase of the school improvement process.
Demographics data, achievement data, perception

What makes a good school?
There are numerous factors that go into deciding what makes a school good, including the
staffing of the school, the area of which the school is in, and the amount of money that the school
has available to it. It is possible that two people commenting on the same school could have
contradictory views on whether or not that school is good. Everyone's high school experience is at
least slightly different from everybody else's, which causes these differences in opinions in what
makes a school good. The viewpoint of which that person views a school also affects how they
view the school. For example, a person judging a school for the Department of Education for New
York State might look at a school differently than a parent of a student at that...show more content...
It is the responsibility of the teachers and administration of the school to make sure adequate
rules are in place and that students follow these rules to ensure their safety. These rules have to be
enforced fairly, though, and not be more lenient for some students and stricter for others based on
race, ethnicity, or for any other similar reason. Although funding, which will be discussed more in
depth later, sometimes makes it difficult, teachers and especially administration needs to make
sure that the school is well maintained and is clean, as well. One example of an administration
failing to do this, although it probably has more to do with lack of funding, comes again from the
letter, "Postcards from America," where Sarafina, the daughter of migrant workers in California,
attends school at a school where there are "no seats on the toilet and not enough paper in the
bathroom to clean yourself." Sometimes, it is just the small things like this that can cause a
school to be considered good or bad, although this school most likely had many other problems to
go along with the lack of seats on the toilets and lack of toilet paper. As stated before, this exact
example is probably better suited to show a lack of funding, which is also a very important factor in
determining the value of a school.
Funding for schools might be

The High School Experience Essay
The High School Experience
The high school experience is something that will forever dominate the psyche of most American
adults. It was an unforgettable time of fun, rebel–rousing, summer loves and parties. It was a time of
warm summer days at the pool and chilly autumn nights, watching the football team and wondering
were the party was going to be that night. School dances and hotel parties. Seems like all I can
remember are the good times. High School is a very emotional time for many teens and everything
matters. The insidious problems that I had to face are but a smudge on my memory, things like too
much homework, zits, mean people, gossip, and algebra. The social atmosphere that permeated
every aspect of high school could...show more content...
"The Breakfast Club" characterizes this phenomena by depicting the "jock, the brain, the basketcase,
the princess, and the juvenile delinquent". In the movie each character is representative of the social
class to which they belong. The "jock" signifies the sports star that can do no wrong, but the movie
character bullies another boy and when caught all he received was detention. Although on the other
hand the delinquent who is a dope smoking, foul mouthed punk, received the same punishment for
talking back to a teacher. Administrators and teachers are very quick to meet out severe punishment
to those students that they have deemed worthless, while good kids get a slap on the wrist. The
movie's jock is placed in Saturday detention, instead of being suspended, so that he may wrestle in an
upcoming tournament; a case in which Hollywood makes an accurate depiction. This is the "holding
of power" that Wehlage and Rutter spoke about in their study, High School and Beyond. Students
who receive better treatment seem to do better in school when subjected to "an orderly environment,
a committed and caring faculty, and an emphasis on academic pursuits"(Nieto,100).
The movie goes on to compare and contrast the "princess" and the "basketcase", both seventeen year
old girls who endeavor male attention, yet one is the cool crowd prom queen and the other is the
loser, burnout crowd weirdo. Brian, the narrating brain, is a

My Future School : My School Of The Future
School
My school of the future will offer many classes and classrooms for high schoolers. There will be a
separate wing for each subject (math, science, social studies, etc.), as organizing a school like
that makes for easier navigation and access to classrooms. I drew my school with all of the
classrooms on outside walls for one reason: windows! I really love when classrooms have windows
because it is something different to look at and in addition they are important for schools to have as
the natural light is a drastic difference from the drab, beige–white walls of a school. If windows were
not an option in my school, I would not hesitate to substitute skylights in for them. Moreover, to
ensure that the students attending my school have the best education, I will have a large library. I
personally love the library for two reasons: one because reading is a hobby of mine, and two
because it is a quiet place to read, study, or just hang out. Furthermore, two out of the four science
classroom will have a lab area to conduct experiments in. There will also be a kitchen in the Family
and Consumer Sciences wing to make authentic foods in.
A few extra qualities my school will offer that not all schools do are airconditioning and heating, a
pool, both an indoor and an outdoor track, a greenhouse, a domed lunchroom/courtyard with glass
ceiling, as well as art and music programs, as well as transgender bathrooms. To begin, a pool
would be a fun way for students to get in physical

School For Good And Evil Essay
The School for Good and Evil Was written by Soman Chainani and is a fantasy, this story takes
place mostly at the School for Good and Evil but it also takes place in Gavaldon.
The two major characters are Sophie and Agatha, Sophie and Agatha are both best friends and are
both 12. Sophie loves princes and dresses however Agatha liked the color black, her cat, and
graveyards. Agatha was pale and had jutting bones, while Sophie had waist long hair color spun of
gold, her green faded eyes, and her luscious red lips.
Some of the other characters are the School Master, Beatrix, and Tedros. The school master is the

their mistake eventually. However many time passed and they never realized the mistake, Sophie
even tried to pretend she was Agatha so that she could sneak in but they caught her. All but one
person believed she was evil which was Tedros. When Sophie met Tedros, she automatically knew
he was her prince. Tedros thought of a variety of plans to get Sophie out of the school for good, he
even blushed around her. One day Sophie thought that Tedros liked Beatrix. The first thing Sophie
did to try to fix this problem was that she asked Agatha to make a love spell. Agatha refused to do
this multiple times but ended up doing it. The nest day she tried to sling shot the potion at Tedros
but she missed. Instead of hitting Tedros, she hit Beatrix. Unfortunately, that isn't the worst part for
Sophie, the worst past was when he figured out, he was so humiliated, and at that very moment he

School Rules
School rules and regulations are made not to be broken. Rules are made for the safety and better
welfare of the students in school. Another is to promote good behavior among students and to
maintain the good image of the school. Parents send their children to school in order for them to
learn not only academic values, but also moral values. Implementing school rules will help the
students mold their character and values expected from them by other people.
There are certain factors why nowadays, students tend not to follow rules disseminated by the
school despite of the punishments they will have to face for doing such actions. Some of the
reasons are as follows: peer pressure, drugs, poverty, homelessness, low self esteem, lack of...show

Since he/she came from a broken family, he/she cannot get support from his/her family and in that
way, to get the attention of his/her parents, he/she tend to do what is wrong just to be noticed by his

/she is just thinking of his/her own happiness and satisfaction.
The family is the very source of love, support and guidance for each individual. It is where the good
character of a person is uprooted. Without the support and love coming from every member of the
family, the person, particularly the students becomes delinquent or simply lost in their moral values.
A student without moral values knows no straight path. He always go on the wrong side of the track
just to be noticed.
Media also plays an important role in growing individuals. Most of the students nowadays are
exposed to so much in media particularly on local television. Because at a very young age, they are
easily being influenced by what they see and what they hear, especially from those whom they
idolize and frequently see on screen. Sometimes, through media, they witness negative things that
they initiate because it was presented or shown beautifully regardless of being right, or against the
rules.
We cannot deny the fact that even though the parents raised their children in ways which they
consider as "right," there are still some who lose their direction. It is true that nobody is perfect. So

Essay about The Education System
The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do
not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It's a big issue to force student study
specific curriculums, which don't help them improve, and what they like to create something.
Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge.
Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn't let them improve
their creativity. Educators attempt to change that system to make it better, but their changing was
not that great to be an example for the world. Also, did that change qualify education system to
compete other systems or not? In some examples and...show more content...
Gatto is concern to society that the contemporary schooling system is trying to get rid of students'
personality by turning them into obedient students that are easy to have power over (control).
Therefore, the system will produce uneducated voters that are easy to be misled by higher powers. In
addition, students are not given the freedom of choosing what they want. He is saying that public
schools are not the only way to success; also, unschooled people don't mean that they are uneducated.
Moreover, Gatto encourages home–school system than public school as option because home–school
system has more independence but it's not a solution for the US. I disagree to his solution because
he is supporting examples from old generation such as Edison and Ben Franklin; however, our
generation is different than before. It needs school environment like sharing our ideas in class and
helping each other to solve problems. Therefore, homeschool is not the solution to success. It is a
combination of the students' skills, intelligence, and effort that makes up their success.
Graff says that putting students in classes in the contemporary system is wasting and limiting
students' potential and creativity (198). Complaining that intellects do not meet the success standard
set by schools, Graff proves that schools limit the intellect students can achieve in their academic
career (198–199).

My Favorite School Day Essay
It was May 15, 2007, which was my favorite school day of all time! I enjoyed it as much as a fat
long–eyed kid enjoyed eating a chocolate cake. It was my school's yearly Field Day. My class wins
every year; I sometimes believe that it's because I'm on their team. I compete in all activities there
are (as if I'll die if I don't) just to assure that my class wins 1st place in everything. One year, I
received this big trophy for partaking in the most field day enterprises. It was bigger than my

for the last event, the 200–yd. dash, which I was playing as well. I went to the starting line with
Jontavion Brown. He has always hated the sight of me winning anything, and I loved it. Once
everyone was at the starting point we got in our running positions. I turned to Jon and smirked.
Then it was time... pow. It was the starting gun, I was the first to take off. I ran like there was no

Finally, we were side by side that is until it happened. Jon had collapsed to the hard ground. The

The Culture Of A School Essay
The culture of a school has a tremendous impact on the level of excellence within the academic
institution. Like a dog who takes on the personality of its owner, staff and students respond to their
environment. A school culture develops as a result of the combination of several factors.
Interpersonal relations among students, staff, parents, and administration help foster a welcoming or
bland atmosphere. Schools can range from a toxic environment in which there is little trust and
creativity to a collaborative culture based on interdependence and openness. While very few schools
reside on either end of that continuum, most display multiple cultural typologies. The remainder of
this discussion will analyze the school culture of James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg,
Virginia. James Monroe is a very diverse and unique school. The demographics of the city are
distinctive in that there are very few middle class neighborhoods that feed the school system. The
student body consists of approximately 30% relative affluence and approximately 40% poverty. The
middle class is the smallest section of the student population. Thus, there is really no majority. The
other unique feature about the school system is that there is only one school at each level. The
district consists of one elementary, one upper elementary, one middle, and one high school. In other
words, the classmates that enter kindergarten together should be the same exact class walking across
the stage

Personally, "The Sanctuary of School" offers the strongest conflict. Namely, the conflict of Man v.
Society, because troubled children like Lynda Barry contend with those who think before and after
school programs are unimportant. What appealed to me the most was how the author stresses the
importance of art and music programs at school. These programs are sometimes the only way
troubled children escape from the emotional turmoil of their home life. It outrages me that such
creative programs are cut back when times are tough. While I do think the three R's are important, a
student's mentality and overall well–being is essential to the learning process. I also liked how Barry

Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students
School Safety: Protecting the Students
For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly
due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the classroom or out.
Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute
to this evident shortage. There have been investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents
collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in school.
The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show
some of the current measures being taken to aid today's students.
Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content...
And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article,
This positive academic environment begins with safe families and safe communities, statistically,
schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away
from a student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the
time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's drawers, or just while they are playing at
their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons
lying around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends.
However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student.
Psychological stability is a big issue today when it comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children
feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an
education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school
students they surveyed indicated that they experienced harassment and bullying to such an extent
that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a
child when it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a
child down, most of the time leads the child to

the teachers. They did not think critically and just on the surface of the chapter. This organization is

Elementary school–age kids benefit from regularly hearing about persistence. So, teach them
different ways to talk about problem solving such as, "I won't quit," and "I can do it," and "It is
always the hardest at the first, but it will get easier." Borba also suggest that we need to maintain
the families overall attitude by always support each other. That will not just build a positive thinking
in the student's mind but also tighten the bond of family relationship. Finally, we can tell the stories
either from our own life or we can ask the school librarian to recommend books about the characters
who manage to succeed despite the obstacles. The second level is middle school. The middle school

The Importance Of School Culture
As mentioned by Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (2009) when it comes to school culture there are
many hidden or not visible aspects that need to be considered. For example, we need to take in
consideration things that will promote or affect commitment, productivity as well as motivation. As
Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (1999) mentioned, "School culture influences what people pay
attention to (focus), how they identify with the school (commitment), how hard they work (
motivation), and the degree to which they achieve their goals (productivity)..." For instance
something things that we take for granted such as: manners, way we celebrate others, vision &
mission, ways we even greet others and even the tone of voice we use might set the wrong culture.
Even though, we are all trying to catch up, we need to take our time to consider what is important
and or might affect our school community. Simple things such as greeting others, parents, students
and staff member need to be our number one priority, having time to listen to their problems,
concerns as well as their ideas will also help us create a positive culture. We need to listen to those
unsaid words, hidden messages, we need to focus on what it is important, setting up the best learning
/teaching/working opportunities for all community members. As school leaders we need to
understand, that our voice tone, facial gestures, comments as well as preoccupation for getting better
professional development opportunities, parental involment even the way we motivate others will
become the mirror image we see in others.
Our school is doing many things to foster our vision and mission which is "All students are getting
the best learning opportunities..." As part of this, the school is running before and after school
extended learning programs in which some students, those whose reading performance is under
grade level, will be invited and motivate to assist. Teachers are having conversations with parents to
help them understand the importance of this initiative. Posters, flyers as well as information had
been sent home.
Another way that our school is trying to promote our vision and mission is through the Literacy
Family Night program that is starting on Dec 7, 2017. This

Essay on A Day in School Life
A Day in School Life
The day begins with a high–pitched yell, "moooooooorninnnnng" from my mother. I wake up tired
with a headache as I think I have a cold. I rush to leave the house, my father complains about the
lack of urgency in my movement by shouting out the time every five minutes.
There is not enough time to drink my tea; the tea burns my tongue as I gulp it down my throat,
leaving a nasty taste. I ran as fast as I can towards my bus stop. Upon arriving I realize that despite
the hectic hurry of mornings I am actually early. "I really should tell my parents what time the bus
comes so my mornings can be more relaxed," I tell myself.
The large coach's doors slide open to a small...show more content...
However, I come to realize that the squabbling penguins are not very interesting so I find
somewhere comfortable and detached to sit and my mind wanders off.
The official day starts with a tutor period. My mood is lifted as I make quite a few people laugh.
The first lesson is French. The teacher is absent so I am free to take part in a conversation with my
friend concerning the weekend. The teacher next door keeps telling us to keep quiet. For some
reason the rest of my fellow students feel the need to shout and keep getting louder after each
complaint.
The second period begins. The teacher ignores my enquiries as to whether we will be using the
"metro " book this lesson then yells at me for not having written the title in my book, even though
she hasn't started the lesson or even written the title on the board. When I point this out to the
teacher another student already distracts her. After twenty minutes, the tiredness sets in and hinders
my work effort. The headache from that morning begins to throb and my eyes are itchy and
bloodshot.
The mountain scenery contrasts against the blockish and uninspiring appearance of the school, as it
leaves a light and breezy atmosphere. The sea breeze carries a sense of freshness, which promotes an
industrious work ethic. However, during the summer months the stifling heat and humidity

The School Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay About School Change School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist or continue? Should they radically change? Should teachers get paid more? Should they teach more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should they add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements. What do I think about school? Some people say we shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student, that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or more doing jobs. People think they can learn on their own. So you telling me you can learn other languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a radical change. As the years go by schools are changing (radically). I honestly like looking through the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion way. Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I feel like I learn a lot better that way and memorized it a lot more. Online is a good way of visualizing it. Teacher should get paid more. You would disagree with this, but do you know why? Teachers goes through a lot with students, parents, and even other teachers. I can just look into a teacher's eye and tell their tired of it or stressed out. Students are a pain in the butt. Some students are difficult to handle. Let's take a minute, let's say this teacher has 7 different classes a day. Let's say the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have been acting up lately and their influence the good students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket. Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal or call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going to act or say back in response. Teachers should get paid way more than what they make Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Residential Schools Essay Residential schools were a school system implemented by the government to assimilate children of aboriginal descent. They were designed to replace the children's culture, traditions, beliefs, and to "kill the Indian out of them". Schools of this manner have affected over 150 000 children. The first residential schools were established in the 1880s, a few years after the Indian Act was implemented. The Indian Act contained many clauses that allowed for residential schools to be built. Aboriginal children were taken from their families to study at these schools. They were not allowed to speak their language, acknowledge their culture or beliefs, and removed their heritage. The schools were incompetent at educating the children, as the teaching provided was inferior...show more content... Boys had their hair cut short and all students were required to wear school uniforms. The two genders were always kept separate and siblings were rarely allowed to interact with each other. Chief Bobby Joseph of the Indian Residential School Survivors Society recalls that he never got to know his sister "beyond a mere wave at the dining hall". Education, which should be a school's main goal, was neglected at these schools. The schools were extremely underfunded by the government and many practical skills were taught instead of academical skills. Girls were sought after to do domestic tasks, and were taught to cook, clean, sew, and do laundry. Boys were taught carpentry, smithing, and farming. A large population of the schools only attend for part of the time as the other time was spent doing unpaid work against their will. Girls were required to do housekeeping, and boys were required to do general maintenance and agricultural tasks. The jobs were presented to the students as practical training, however the reason for these jobs was to help run the underfunded Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. School Environment Essay Grand Canyon University: EDA: Educational Leadership in a Changing World There are a lot of factors that affect schools. A few of those factors are: environmental and contextual issues. It is these two factors that influence or shape the school's climate and community. It takes the collaboration of our administrators, school improvement team, teachers, parents, students and the community to bring the change and help needed to advance the vision of the school. A school is capable of fully functioning at a high level with all of the stakeholders help. Teachers and administrators are responsible for the environment in which they service the children in. Addressing the issues is a clear way of saying, I will have...show more content... Secondly, vandalism is a contextual factor that affects my school. Our school is vandalized every week by someone and sometimes it seems to happen twice a week. It is difficult to catch the vandals because it takes place at different times during the day and at different bathrooms or areas without security cameras. Although it is the expectation of our school not to vandalize school property, vandalism still happens. It is the administration and teachers' job to attempt to keep the problem from re–occurring. A possible solution to solve the problem of vandalizing could be a service learning project (Stenhouse & Jarrett, 2012). A possible reason of prevalent vandalism may be the students' bored feelings and that his/her potential is not being challenged in the classroom. Possibly, it is the belief that school is not exciting with values. Students may not be able to express one's anger when they are upset and choose to express their negative emotion through vandalism. The belief, that one is able to express his or herself when happy, sad or mad in a positive manner, is an important component to keeping school property safe. It is important that teachers provide hands on exciting, interesting activities that stimulate positive behavior. Bullying has become a major issue at this school. Even with the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Middle School Essay Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they call on me and I don't respond or I just say I don't know.In middle school, I have been using to study for everything, now I haven't been studying as much.I haven't really been preparing myself before tests/quizzes but for the upcoming finals, I am going to be studying the most because for sure I don't want to be failing 9th grade. When I have a bad grade in a class, I will usually be asking for help or questions like how can I raise my grade up.I do that because I want the teachers to know that I'm a serious person and that I care about my grades. This is a bad year for me for turning in homework.I usually turn homework in late or I don't even turn it in time and that's a very bad habit....show more content... • 5. School Culture Analysis Essay Running head: SCHOOL CULTURE ANALYSIS School Culture Analysis Lisa Mack Grand Canyon University EDA 529 Dr. Tony Elmer July 21, 2009 School Culture Analysis The term school culture describes the environment that affects the behavior of the entire school community. School culture can be defined as the quality and character of school life. It is based on patterns of school life experiences and reflects norms, goals, values, relationships, teaching, leadership practices and the structure of the organization. Several studies have concurred that student performance is directly related to school climate. Students in schools with a positive school culture have higher achievements. Therefore, creating and...show more content... Such a community is a place where teachers, students, and the stakeholders engage in decision making, have a shared sense of purpose and will all work together to support the infrastructure that involves alignment of instructional goals and a vision of learning (MacNeil & Maclin). School leaders that focus their attention on creating a positive school culture begin with a period of initiating a school process that focuses on school vision, use of data, shared expectations, and collaborative teamwork. In order for a positive school culture to be established, the principal must foster an atmosphere where teachers, students, and parents know where they fit in and how they can work together to support teaching and learning. Creating a positive school culture requires the principal to develop a vision of learning that is clearly communicated to the staff and students. Additionally, principals must create a climate that fosters shared authority and accountability if they are going to build a positive school culture (MacNeil & Maclin). Establishing a shared understanding of the definition of school culture with the stakeholders of the school is the first step in building a positive school culture. Once a shared definition is established, then a school administrator should next assess the current school culture and devise a plan of action. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Building A New School In recent (and not so recent) years, there has been many conversations about reform throughout our school and county. This has obviously been somewhat of a controversy in all layers of the local populus; among teachers, students, parents, and other concerned members of the community. The reform bill was (in the simplest terms) about whether or not to build a new school. While this would be great in theory, even though I would not be able to enjoy it as I am graduating this spring, I feel like it's possibly too much. If we would really like to reform this school then we should focus not on building a completely new school, but instead focus on fixing the one we have. The number one best way of improving the school from the inside is focusing on the small things first. Most people will have a different idea of the best place to start, but I personally think that the best place is the restrooms. In 1907 paper towels were invented for use in public restrooms to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses spread by using normal cloth towels. While we obviously do not have this issue anymore because we now have options for hand drying beyond a communal cloth hand towel or even paper towels. Hand dryers came about more recently, having only just under 70 years ago become popularized, advertised for their water–evaporating capabilities and for being more cost effective than paper towels. The hype around hand dryers has only snowballed over these 70 years; claims that hand dryers are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is a process that schools must use with fidelity to ensure that at all students are given the opportunity to perform and achieve at exemplary levels. School improvement is vital to schools and it is a process that cannot be done in isolation. It requires team work, collaboration, and constant analysis of data and setting of goals. School improvement goals focus on how to meet the needs of students. Addressing the educational needs, funding, and achievement gaps between subgroups is collaborative effort involves everyone that has a vested interest in the schools. These basic measures set the foundation for improvement. And so, if it is the...show more content... This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As we review and synthesize data of a district for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the needs of a school. First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school districts measure up with state and federal accountability. During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating improvement strategies. So, after careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that will improve student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan. Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide continuous improvement of a plan. There are four types of data that will be beneficial to any team during the planning phase of the school improvement process. • 8. What makes a good school? There are numerous factors that go into deciding what makes a school good, including the staffing of the school, the area of which the school is in, and the amount of money that the school has available to it. It is possible that two people commenting on the same school could have contradictory views on whether or not that school is good. Everyone's high school experience is at least slightly different from everybody else's, which causes these differences in opinions in what makes a school good. The viewpoint of which that person views a school also affects how they view the school. For example, a person judging a school for the Department of Education for New York State might look at a school differently than a parent of a student at that...show more content... It is the responsibility of the teachers and administration of the school to make sure adequate rules are in place and that students follow these rules to ensure their safety. These rules have to be enforced fairly, though, and not be more lenient for some students and stricter for others based on race, ethnicity, or for any other similar reason. Although funding, which will be discussed more in depth later, sometimes makes it difficult, teachers and especially administration needs to make sure that the school is well maintained and is clean, as well. One example of an administration failing to do this, although it probably has more to do with lack of funding, comes again from the letter, "Postcards from America," where Sarafina, the daughter of migrant workers in California, attends school at a school where there are "no seats on the toilet and not enough paper in the bathroom to clean yourself." Sometimes, it is just the small things like this that can cause a school to be considered good or bad, although this school most likely had many other problems to go along with the lack of seats on the toilets and lack of toilet paper. As stated before, this exact example is probably better suited to show a lack of funding, which is also a very important factor in determining the value of a school. • 9. The High School Experience Essay The High School Experience The high school experience is something that will forever dominate the psyche of most American adults. It was an unforgettable time of fun, rebel–rousing, summer loves and parties. It was a time of warm summer days at the pool and chilly autumn nights, watching the football team and wondering were the party was going to be that night. School dances and hotel parties. Seems like all I can remember are the good times. High School is a very emotional time for many teens and everything matters. The insidious problems that I had to face are but a smudge on my memory, things like too much homework, zits, mean people, gossip, and algebra. The social atmosphere that permeated every aspect of high school could...show more content... "The Breakfast Club" characterizes this phenomena by depicting the "jock, the brain, the basketcase, the princess, and the juvenile delinquent". In the movie each character is representative of the social class to which they belong. The "jock" signifies the sports star that can do no wrong, but the movie character bullies another boy and when caught all he received was detention. Although on the other hand the delinquent who is a dope smoking, foul mouthed punk, received the same punishment for talking back to a teacher. Administrators and teachers are very quick to meet out severe punishment to those students that they have deemed worthless, while good kids get a slap on the wrist. The movie's jock is placed in Saturday detention, instead of being suspended, so that he may wrestle in an upcoming tournament; a case in which Hollywood makes an accurate depiction. This is the "holding of power" that Wehlage and Rutter spoke about in their study, High School and Beyond. Students who receive better treatment seem to do better in school when subjected to "an orderly environment, a committed and caring faculty, and an emphasis on academic pursuits"(Nieto,100). The movie goes on to compare and contrast the "princess" and the "basketcase", both seventeen year old girls who endeavor male attention, yet one is the cool crowd prom queen and the other is the loser, burnout crowd weirdo. • 10. My Future School : My School Of The Future School My school of the future will offer many classes and classrooms for high schoolers. There will be a separate wing for each subject (math, science, social studies, etc.), as organizing a school like that makes for easier navigation and access to classrooms. I drew my school with all of the classrooms on outside walls for one reason: windows! I really love when classrooms have windows because it is something different to look at and in addition they are important for schools to have as the natural light is a drastic difference from the drab, beige–white walls of a school. If windows were not an option in my school, I would not hesitate to substitute skylights in for them. Moreover, to ensure that the students attending my school have the best education, I will have a large library. I personally love the library for two reasons: one because reading is a hobby of mine, and two because it is a quiet place to read, study, or just hang out. Furthermore, two out of the four science classroom will have a lab area to conduct experiments in. There will also be a kitchen in the Family and Consumer Sciences wing to make authentic foods in. A few extra qualities my school will offer that not all schools do are airconditioning and heating, a pool, both an indoor and an outdoor track, a greenhouse, a domed lunchroom/courtyard with glass ceiling, as well as art and music programs, as well as transgender bathrooms. To begin, a pool would be a fun way for students to get in physical Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. The two major characters are Sophie and Agatha, Sophie and Agatha are both best friends and are both 12. Sophie loves princes and dresses however Agatha liked the color black, her cat, and graveyards. • 12. School Rules School rules and regulations are made not to be broken. Rules are made for the safety and better welfare of the students in school. Another is to promote good behavior among students and to maintain the good image of the school. Parents send their children to school in order for them to learn not only academic values, but also moral values. Implementing school rules will help the students mold their character and values expected from them by other people. There are certain factors why nowadays, students tend not to follow rules disseminated by the school despite of the punishments they will have to face for doing such actions. Some of the reasons are as follows: peer pressure, drugs, poverty, homelessness, low self esteem, lack of...show more content... Since he/she came from a broken family, he/she cannot get support from his/her family and in that way, to get the attention of his/her parents, he/she tend to do what is wrong just to be noticed by his /her love ones. Students coming from broken families often times become selfish in a way that he /she is just thinking of his/her own happiness and satisfaction. The family is the very source of love, support and guidance for each individual. It is where the good character of a person is uprooted. Without the support and love coming from every member of the family, the person, particularly the students becomes delinquent or simply lost in their moral values. A student without moral values knows no straight path. He always go on the wrong side of the track just to be noticed. Media also plays an important role in growing individuals. Most of the students nowadays are exposed to so much in media particularly on local television. Because at a very young age, they are easily being influenced by what they see and what they hear, especially from those whom they idolize and frequently see on screen. Sometimes, through media, they witness negative things that they initiate because it was presented or shown beautifully regardless of being right, or against the rules. We cannot deny the fact that even though the parents raised their children in ways which they consider as "right," there are still some who lose their direction. It is true that nobody is perfect. • 13. Essay about The Education System The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It's a big issue to force student study specific curriculums, which don't help them improve, and what they like to create something. Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge. Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn't let them improve their creativity. Educators attempt to change that system to make it better, but their changing was not that great to be an example for the world. Also, did that change qualify education system to compete other systems or not? In some examples and...show more content... Gatto is concern to society that the contemporary schooling system is trying to get rid of students' personality by turning them into obedient students that are easy to have power over (control). Therefore, the system will produce uneducated voters that are easy to be misled by higher powers. In addition, students are not given the freedom of choosing what they want. He is saying that public schools are not the only way to success; also, unschooled people don't mean that they are uneducated. Moreover, Gatto encourages home–school system than public school as option because home–school system has more independence but it's not a solution for the US. I disagree to his solution because he is supporting examples from old generation such as Edison and Ben Franklin; however, our generation is different than before. It needs school environment like sharing our ideas in class and helping each other to solve problems. Therefore, homeschool is not the solution to success. It is a combination of the students' skills, intelligence, and effort that makes up their success. Graff says that putting students in classes in the contemporary system is wasting and limiting students' potential and creativity (198). Complaining that intellects do not meet the success standard set by schools, Graff proves that schools limit the intellect students can achieve in their academic career (198–199). • 14. My Favorite School Day Essay It was May 15, 2007, which was my favorite school day of all time! I enjoyed it as much as a fat long–eyed kid enjoyed eating a chocolate cake. It was my school's yearly Field Day. My class wins every year; I sometimes believe that it's because I'm on their team. I compete in all activities there are (as if I'll die if I don't) just to assure that my class wins 1st place in everything. One year, I received this big trophy for partaking in the most field day enterprises. It was bigger than my head, and it had three golden men. One was holding a frisbee, the other holding a basketball in the air, and the one on top was flexing his muscles. This year's Felid Day however, was a decadence from all my other precious victories and it helped me...show more content... It was extremely hot that day, but it was all going to be worth it after I win Field Day. I gave my mom a hug and went to my class area. There, sitting on towels, were Angel, Ya'kimbria, Anthony, Brayden, and Iyana. They were my best friends since kindergarten. Me and my friends are all competitive. So, just like me they participated in a lot of events, but I did more. It was finally time for the last event, the 200–yd. dash, which I was playing as well. I went to the starting line with Jontavion Brown. He has always hated the sight of me winning anything, and I loved it. Once everyone was at the starting point we got in our running positions. I turned to Jon and smirked. Then it was time... pow. It was the starting gun, I was the first to take off. I ran like there was no tomorrow. Jontavion was trying his best to stay on m path, so I ran even faster and he did too. Finally, we were side by side that is until it happened. Jon had collapsed to the hard ground. The coach blew his whistle and everyone teachers, students, the principle, parents, and all came up towards Jon. "Are you ok, do we need to call an ambulance? Answer baby!", cried his mother. Jontavion could barely speak, and before he could say yes or no Mr. Larkins was already on the phone with 911. "He's being more dramatic than a little girl who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. The Culture Of A School Essay The culture of a school has a tremendous impact on the level of excellence within the academic institution. Like a dog who takes on the personality of its owner, staff and students respond to their environment. A school culture develops as a result of the combination of several factors. Interpersonal relations among students, staff, parents, and administration help foster a welcoming or bland atmosphere. Schools can range from a toxic environment in which there is little trust and creativity to a collaborative culture based on interdependence and openness. While very few schools reside on either end of that continuum, most display multiple cultural typologies. The remainder of this discussion will analyze the school culture of James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. James Monroe is a very diverse and unique school. The demographics of the city are distinctive in that there are very few middle class neighborhoods that feed the school system. The student body consists of approximately 30% relative affluence and approximately 40% poverty. The middle class is the smallest section of the student population. Thus, there is really no majority. The other unique feature about the school system is that there is only one school at each level. The district consists of one elementary, one upper elementary, one middle, and one high school. In other words, the classmates that enter kindergarten together should be the same exact class walking across the stage Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Personally, "The Sanctuary of School" offers the strongest conflict. Namely, the conflict of Man v. Society, because troubled children like Lynda Barry contend with those who think before and after school programs are unimportant. What appealed to me the most was how the author stresses the importance of art and music programs at school. These programs are sometimes the only way troubled children escape from the emotional turmoil of their home life. It outrages me that such creative programs are cut back when times are tough. While I do think the three R's are important, a student's mentality and overall well–being is essential to the learning process. I also liked how Barry used description in her narrative. Descriptions such as "...silently Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students School Safety: Protecting the Students For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the classroom or out. Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute to this evident shortage. There have been investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in school. The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show some of the current measures being taken to aid today's students. Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content... And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article, This positive academic environment begins with safe families and safe communities, statistically, schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away from a student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's drawers, or just while they are playing at their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons lying around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends. However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student. Psychological stability is a big issue today when it comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school students they surveyed indicated that they experienced harassment and bullying to such an extent that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a child when it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a child down, most of the time leads the child to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

At this point, the students are very innocent and just accept all the knowledge that has been given by the teachers. They did not think critically and just on the surface of the chapter. This organization is very crucial so that the students will not be shocked to learn and they can understand easily. Elementary school–age kids benefit from regularly hearing about persistence. So, teach them different ways to talk about problem solving such as, "I won't quit," and "I can do it," and "It is always the hardest at the first, but it will get easier." Borba also suggest that we need to maintain the families overall attitude by always support each other. That will not just build a positive thinking in the student's mind but also tighten the bond of family relationship. Finally, we can tell the stories either from our own life or we can ask the school librarian to recommend books about the characters who manage to succeed despite the obstacles. The second level is middle school. The middle school is defines as the period in student's life that take place after elementary school and before high school . The school organization takes places in order to shape the students attitude so that they are not easily influenced by any bad things. Students at this period in their lives experience rapid physical, emotion and intellectual growth, matched in scope only by the first three years of life; they are experiencing fast and sometimes confusing changes. • 19. The Importance Of School Culture As mentioned by Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (2009) when it comes to school culture there are many hidden or not visible aspects that need to be considered. For example, we need to take in consideration things that will promote or affect commitment, productivity as well as motivation. As Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (1999) mentioned, "School culture influences what people pay attention to (focus), how they identify with the school (commitment), how hard they work ( motivation), and the degree to which they achieve their goals (productivity)..." For instance something things that we take for granted such as: manners, way we celebrate others, vision & mission, ways we even greet others and even the tone of voice we use might set the wrong culture. Even though, we are all trying to catch up, we need to take our time to consider what is important and or might affect our school community. Simple things such as greeting others, parents, students and staff member need to be our number one priority, having time to listen to their problems, concerns as well as their ideas will also help us create a positive culture. We need to listen to those unsaid words, hidden messages, we need to focus on what it is important, setting up the best learning /teaching/working opportunities for all community members. As school leaders we need to understand, that our voice tone, facial gestures, comments as well as preoccupation for getting better professional development opportunities, parental involment even the way we motivate others will become the mirror image we see in others. Our school is doing many things to foster our vision and mission which is "All students are getting the best learning opportunities..." As part of this, the school is running before and after school extended learning programs in which some students, those whose reading performance is under grade level, will be invited and motivate to assist. Teachers are having conversations with parents to help them understand the importance of this initiative. Posters, flyers as well as information had been sent home. Another way that our school is trying to promote our vision and mission is through the Literacy Family Night program that is starting on Dec 7, 2017. This Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Essay on A Day in School Life A Day in School Life The day begins with a high–pitched yell, "moooooooorninnnnng" from my mother. I wake up tired with a headache as I think I have a cold. I rush to leave the house, my father complains about the lack of urgency in my movement by shouting out the time every five minutes. There is not enough time to drink my tea; the tea burns my tongue as I gulp it down my throat, leaving a nasty taste. I ran as fast as I can towards my bus stop. Upon arriving I realize that despite the hectic hurry of mornings I am actually early. "I really should tell my parents what time the bus comes so my mornings can be more relaxed," I tell myself. The official day starts with a tutor period. My mood is lifted as I make quite a few people laugh. The first lesson is French. The teacher is absent so I am free to take part in a conversation with my friend concerning the weekend. The teacher next door keeps telling us to keep quiet. For some reason the rest of my fellow students feel the need to shout and keep getting louder after each complaint. The second period begins. The teacher ignores my enquiries as to whether we will be using the "metro " book this lesson then yells at me for not having written the title in my book, even though she hasn't started the lesson or even written the title on the board. When I point this out to the teacher another student already distracts her. After twenty minutes, the tiredness sets in and hinders my work effort. The headache from that morning begins to throb and my eyes are itchy and bloodshot. The mountain scenery contrasts against the blockish and uninspiring appearance of the school, as it leaves a light and breezy atmosphere. The sea breeze carries a sense of freshness, which promotes an industrious work ethic. However, during the summer months the stifling heat and humidity Get more content on HelpWriting.net
