Essay about the human brain
In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't
the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how
complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has
main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia
holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain
on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the
right hemisphere. The left hemisphere has about the same areas as the right hemisphere. The only

The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes
and processes information concerning touch, pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the
thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions such
as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are
controlled. In the temporal lobe expressed behavior is controlled. The parietal lobe discriminates
sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves
going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray
area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts
out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual
cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for
analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and
making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The
cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain.
If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion
has changed after reading his paper. It is amazing how god has created the brain to have so many

Informative Essay On Social Media
Social Media has changed the way we look at the world now–a–days. People have become obsessed
with post or looking others post on Social media. Ever since the smartphone has been released,
new social media apps have become more relevant and very popular. Teens and young adults are
the reason why social media is very popular because now people can communicate with families
from different countries or talk and make new friends through social media. There are three types of
Social Medias that affected communication. The first social media app that I will be talking about,
that has effected people lives and the way people communicate now–a–days, is Snapchat. Snapchat
is an app that allows people to communicate with others through pictures and videos. Snapchat has
become a very popular app that has changed the way teens and adults communicate with others.
Elyse Betters explains that "Snapchat is a fun messaging app. You can capture a photo or brief
video with it, then add a caption or doodle or filter/lens over top, and send the finished creation
(called a snap) to a friend." (Pocket–Lint). People can communicate with anyone around the world
through pictures and videos. The way Snapchat has effected people in a good way is that you can
stay connected with the world. Snapchat provided its users with news, gossip, and entertainment
through the main page of Snapchat. Snapchat has different types of stories that businesses or news
networks post on snapchat so that the users are

Words are very powerful things, they are not simply just letters written on a sheet of paper; they
can inspire, motivate, and evoke certain emotions. Think of your favorite songs and realize that the
lyrics can bring joy, happiness, sadness, depression, loneliness, longing, or any emotion imaginable
to others based on their own personal experiences. Dave Matthews' song lyrics for "Funny The Way
It Is" are able to capture this...show more content...
To "carry the fire" was the boys main concern and those words meant a world of difference
(McCarthy np). It gave the man and his son the strength and encouragement to just keep going.
Khaled Hossieni's novel The Kite Runner used the repetition of the saying "for you a thousand times
over" to induce an overwhelming response in the reader's emotions through the use of irony
(Hosseini np). The huge power of words in literature, speeches, songs, and sermons are seen over and
over again. The use of such powerful words can evoke emotions, motivations, and encouragement to
the listeners because they are not just characters put together...there is emotion behind each single
word. Cain and Abel is a story found from within the Bible about two brothers who are to give god
a sacrifice to show how sorry they were for their sins. Cain the older brother is a farmer and
decides to burn up some of his leftover hay while his brother, Abel, who tended after the sheep,
picked the biggest and best one to sacrifice. When Abel's burned brighter Cain knew that God had
rejected his gift and became livid with his brother ("The Story..." 1). Cain struck him and killed him,
when God found this out he exiled him to the lands east of Eden and uttered "Timshel." This story is
similar to the one of Charles and Adam Trask and almost repeats itself again with Cal and Aron. All
three of these stories are filled with sin and manipulation, finally turning into guilt and redemption.

Informative Speech
Do Choose the proper language for the situation The first thing that is an important part of
delivering any speech is the language that one chooses to use. On page 164 the book says that
this does not just mean ensuring that the grammar is correct but choosing the words, phrases, and
oratory devices best suited to the ideas being conveyed. The proper implementation of specific or
concrete words can change a speech from an unfocused generalization to an informative and
focused presentation. One example of such specificity in helping clarify a speech is when
discussing how prevalent adult ADHD is instead of merely saying the statistic (2.5%) to actually
explained how many people that would be worldwide. This would help by giving the listener some
context of the sheer number of people that I was discussing rather than a vague idea based on an
unrelatable percentage. While giving specifics is also important in making the audience properly
understand the presentation, one must also ensure that one uses the proper language to convey an
idea. For example, when giving a fact–heavy speech it is better to use neutral words and attempt to
minimize metaphors and other flowery language as that will detract from the objective tone
necessary in delivering an informative speech. When dealing with an emotional topic, however, it
would be advisable to include emotional language and imagery. In this situation, the emotional
language does not detract from the speech as not

Informative Essay On Fake News
As the world evolves and changes due to the explosion of technology, so does mankind's ways of
intellectual comprehension of informative news. The present day of news has overemphasized the
meaning of fake news; which represents any form of false information that is illustrated as factual
news. That tends to spread throughout the internet and the media. Misinformed news has taken over
the world in so many ways, such as the birth of satirical and sketchy news, the financial motivation to
publish actual false news, and difficult to sustain news.
Many news outlets rely on publishing sources of news that is satire. Satire utilizes on humor, irony,
or exaggeration to uncover or highlight issues. One of which was displayed by PBS NewsHour, on
the topic of "Donald Trump's Surprise election victory" mentioning the political satire on, "Fake
election news more popular on Facebook than most popular election stories" (Fake, Par. D). The
topic of current events or politics, satire is "designed to fool people into believing something that
is not true" (Fake, Par. E). In today's world, false news is created with a specific purpose. People
are being victims and are unable to comprehend the irony of satire in websites. For an example, in
the article recent Change.org petition Psychologist Dannagal Young states, "Allow open carry of
Firearms at the Quicken Loans Arena during the RNC convention" (Fake, Par. N). Many news
outlets believed the petition to be true, but in reality, satire is

Informative Speech
Many individuals have stressed out over job interviews and their resumes. I think that everyone
has including me. It is very vital to have a quality resume if you want to get a good job after
graduation. Stressing out over getting a good job and having a good resume is something that
everyone in this room can relate to, I'm sure. If not then you probably have a great skill that many
wish they had. Throughout my college career I have gone to numerous resume building workshops
and have had numerous resumes myself to perfect it. I think that having a strong resume is very
important and I think that everyone should have the chance to learn how to build a successful

According to the resume and cover letters section of Ohio State University's website, you should
include your contact information which would include your phone number, email address, your
major, and your GPA if above a 3.0. You alsoneed to list any of your goals that you want your future
employer to know. You need to give your professional profile including your work history and any
honors or interests you have. You should never include any information from high school in your
resume. It is helpful if you update your resume when new experiences can be provided. You need to
show who you are in the business world and make sure that your resume is clear, consistent, and
constant.
So now that you know what your resume is and what you need to put into it you need to know how to
set it up. In setting up a resume there is no proper way of doing it. Just make sure that it is simple,
to the point, and clear for the employer to understand. You cannot do your resume in one hour, so
give yourself some time to review it and also have a rough copy to have other people review it.
You can look at samples online as there are numerous templates available. I have printed you off a
template to take home so that you may create your own resume. In the article by Erin Binns,
Uncovering Resume and Skill Building Opportunities in Today's Market, she says that you should
only have a one page resume, two at the most. Never ramble in your resume, get right to the point.

The Harlem Renaissance Essay
Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance was a time of racism, injustice, and importance. Somewhere in between the
1920s and 1930s an African American movement occurred in Harlem, New York City. The Harlem

Informative Speech Reflection Paper After giving and analyzing my informative speech I learned
many new things that will help me in my future speeches. Looking at the aspects of content,

assignment has helped me gain a better understanding of my topic, but also has helped me gain
further knowledge on writing and giving my speech to an audience, along with opened my eyes to
improvements I need to make in my future speeches. I have learned many new techniques and
aspects to include in my speeches to make my future speeches better. Content is a very important
part of an informative speech. I focused a lot on having strong points in my informative speech. I
focused on discussing the types of service dogs, and the qualifications to have a service dog,
along with the training a service dog undergoes. My main points I chose to include in my
informative speech I expressed very well and went into a good amount of detail, however in some
areas I could have given a more in–depth explanation. One thing I could have improved on in regard
to my content would have been giving more background information on serve dogs, by including
things like how long they have been around and the number of service dogs currently in the U.S. By
doing this I would have added not only more content to my speech,

Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an
individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and
non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically
structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized

The final step in the road to exemplary interpersonal communication is to affirm. Affirm means to

Informative Essay On Gymnastics
Gymnastics If I asked you to guess what the real meaning of gymnastics is, you'd be surprised to
find out that you are probably wrong, and what the true definition is. According to
softschools.com, gymnastics' true meaning comes from the Greek word, "gymnos," which means
"naked." Nimblesports.com also states that the reason for this name is that in ancient Greece men
were prepared for war by doing gymnastics, and in doing so, they were naked. These "soldiers in
training" also jumped over bulls instead of vaults! After hearing these crazy facts, you may be
wondering about the true beginning of gymnastics, so let's start there. Gymnastics is one of the
oldest sports in the world, being made more than 2,000 years ago by a German man named
Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (www.fig–gymnastics.com). Although gymnastics has existed for over 2,000

Essay on Giant Panda
What animal is black and white and loved all over the world? If you guessed the giant panda, you're
right! The giant panda is also known as the panda bear, bamboo bear, or in Chinese as Daxiongmao,
the "large bear cat." Actually, its scientific name means "black and white
cat–footed animal." Giant pandas are found only in the mountains of central China. They live
in dense bamboo and coniferous forests at altitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 feet. The mountains are
covered in heavy clouds with torrential rains or dense mist throughout the year. Giant pandas are
bear–like in shape with striking black and white markings.
The ears, eye patches, legs, and shoulder band are black. The rest of the body is whitish. Adults are

Ling–Ling, at age 23, died in December 1992.
Giant pandas are among the rarest mammals in the world. There are probably less than 1,000 left in
the wild. Although adult giant pandas have few natural enemies, the young are sometimes preyed
upon by leopards. Habitat encroachment and destruction are the greatest threats to the continued
existence of the giant panda. This is mainly because of the demand for land and natural resources by
China's 1 billion inhabitants. To offset this situation, the Chinese government has set aside 11 nature
preserves where bamboo flourishes and giant pandas are known to live.
Giant pandas are being poached, because their dense fur carries a high price in illegal markets in
the Far East. The Chinese government has imposed life sentences for those convicted of poaching
giant pandas. The low reproductive capacity of the giant panda makes it more vulnerable to these
threats, and less capable of rebounding from its low numbers. In 1984, due to its decreasing
numbers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service listed the giant panda as an endangered species under
the Endangered Species Act. This means it is considered in danger of extinction throughout all of its
range.
This protection also prohibits giant pandas from being imported into the U.S. except under certain
conditions. What you can do to help: Join WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and help

Evaluating An Informative Speech
In an informative speech, the quintessential aspect that can make or break your speech is the
audience. If the audience is a group of 12 year olds, then giving a speech on how to retire at 65 is
not going to draw a positive response. Knowing certain demographics about the audience, including
age, gender, race and many others should determine the topic of your speech. Accordingly, the
relevancy of my speech played a pivotal role in its effectiveness because of how relatable an issue it
was to my audience. Also, sharing the same demographic with the audience gave the speech a more
familiar tone, than the normal speech given by someone who is older. In my informative speech, I
effectively discussed the correct process of how to buy textbooks with minor errors because of an
effective introduction, clear and concise content and relevant topic. An audience can immediately
tell on how well a speech will be as soon as the introduction is completed. Evidently, my speech gave
a strong introduction in which I outlined the layout of my speech, hinting at upcoming points and
leading to a strong...show more content...
In my conclusion, the ideas were reemphasized, and highlighted the steps of how to buy textbooks
effectively through clearly restating them. This allows the audience to hear the main points three
times throughout my speech. Even though I did not incorporate a visual aid, it was made up for
adding slight humor add–libs to the speech which kept the audience's attention. Something that could
have been added to the speech, would be to add a concluding statement that wraps up the speech
before my concluding statement. The conclusion of the speech made the relevancy of providing tips
to buy college textbooks to college students enhanced. With an already relevant speech, with
additional strong introductions and clear main points created an extremely effective and useful

How To Write An Informative Essay

  • 1. Essay about the human brain In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia holds the lentiform and the caudate. The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the right hemisphere. The left hemisphere has about the same areas as the right hemisphere. The only ...show more content... The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes and processes information concerning touch, pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions such as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are controlled. In the temporal lobe expressed behavior is controlled. The parietal lobe discriminates sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain. If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion has changed after reading his paper. It is amazing how god has created the brain to have so many areas Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Informative Essay On Social Media Social Media has changed the way we look at the world now–a–days. People have become obsessed with post or looking others post on Social media. Ever since the smartphone has been released, new social media apps have become more relevant and very popular. Teens and young adults are the reason why social media is very popular because now people can communicate with families from different countries or talk and make new friends through social media. There are three types of Social Medias that affected communication. The first social media app that I will be talking about, that has effected people lives and the way people communicate now–a–days, is Snapchat. Snapchat is an app that allows people to communicate with others through pictures and videos. Snapchat has become a very popular app that has changed the way teens and adults communicate with others. Elyse Betters explains that "Snapchat is a fun messaging app. You can capture a photo or brief video with it, then add a caption or doodle or filter/lens over top, and send the finished creation (called a snap) to a friend." (Pocket–Lint). People can communicate with anyone around the world through pictures and videos. The way Snapchat has effected people in a good way is that you can stay connected with the world. Snapchat provided its users with news, gossip, and entertainment through the main page of Snapchat. Snapchat has different types of stories that businesses or news networks post on snapchat so that the users are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Languages Words are very powerful things, they are not simply just letters written on a sheet of paper; they can inspire, motivate, and evoke certain emotions. Think of your favorite songs and realize that the lyrics can bring joy, happiness, sadness, depression, loneliness, longing, or any emotion imaginable to others based on their own personal experiences. Dave Matthews' song lyrics for "Funny The Way It Is" are able to capture this...show more content... To "carry the fire" was the boys main concern and those words meant a world of difference (McCarthy np). It gave the man and his son the strength and encouragement to just keep going. Khaled Hossieni's novel The Kite Runner used the repetition of the saying "for you a thousand times over" to induce an overwhelming response in the reader's emotions through the use of irony (Hosseini np). The huge power of words in literature, speeches, songs, and sermons are seen over and over again. The use of such powerful words can evoke emotions, motivations, and encouragement to the listeners because they are not just characters put together...there is emotion behind each single word. Cain and Abel is a story found from within the Bible about two brothers who are to give god a sacrifice to show how sorry they were for their sins. Cain the older brother is a farmer and decides to burn up some of his leftover hay while his brother, Abel, who tended after the sheep, picked the biggest and best one to sacrifice. When Abel's burned brighter Cain knew that God had rejected his gift and became livid with his brother ("The Story..." 1). Cain struck him and killed him, when God found this out he exiled him to the lands east of Eden and uttered "Timshel." This story is similar to the one of Charles and Adam Trask and almost repeats itself again with Cal and Aron. All three of these stories are filled with sin and manipulation, finally turning into guilt and redemption. What Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Informative Speech Do Choose the proper language for the situation The first thing that is an important part of delivering any speech is the language that one chooses to use. On page 164 the book says that this does not just mean ensuring that the grammar is correct but choosing the words, phrases, and oratory devices best suited to the ideas being conveyed. The proper implementation of specific or concrete words can change a speech from an unfocused generalization to an informative and focused presentation. One example of such specificity in helping clarify a speech is when discussing how prevalent adult ADHD is instead of merely saying the statistic (2.5%) to actually explained how many people that would be worldwide. This would help by giving the listener some context of the sheer number of people that I was discussing rather than a vague idea based on an unrelatable percentage. While giving specifics is also important in making the audience properly understand the presentation, one must also ensure that one uses the proper language to convey an idea. For example, when giving a fact–heavy speech it is better to use neutral words and attempt to minimize metaphors and other flowery language as that will detract from the objective tone necessary in delivering an informative speech. When dealing with an emotional topic, however, it would be advisable to include emotional language and imagery. In this situation, the emotional language does not detract from the speech as not Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Somewhere in between the 1920s and 1930s an African American movement occurred in Harlem, New York City. The Harlem Renaissance exalted the unique culture of African–Americans and redefined African–American expression. It was the result of Blacks migrating in the North, mostly Chicago and New York. I have learned many new techniques and aspects to include in my speeches to make my future speeches better. Content is a very important part of an informative speech. I focused a lot on having strong points in my informative speech. I focused on discussing the types of service dogs, and the qualifications to have a service dog, along with the training a service dog undergoes. My main points I chose to include in my informative speech I expressed very well and went into a good amount of detail, however in some areas I could have given a more in–depth explanation. One thing I could have improved on in regard to my content would have been giving more background information on serve dogs, by including things like how long they have been around and the number of service dogs currently in the U.S. By doing this I would have added not only more content to my speech, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Giant pandas are among the rarest mammals in the world. There are probably less than 1,000 left in the wild. Although adult giant pandas have few natural enemies, the young are sometimes preyed upon by leopards. Habitat encroachment and destruction are the greatest threats to the continued existence of the giant panda. This is mainly because of the demand for land and natural resources by China's 1 billion inhabitants. To offset this situation, the Chinese government has set aside 11 nature preserves where bamboo flourishes and giant pandas are known to live. Giant pandas are being poached, because their dense fur carries a high price in illegal markets in the Far East. The Chinese government has imposed life sentences for those convicted of poaching giant pandas. The low reproductive capacity of the giant panda makes it more vulnerable to these threats, and less capable of rebounding from its low numbers. In 1984, due to its decreasing numbers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service listed the giant panda as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. This means it is considered in danger of extinction throughout all of its range. This protection also prohibits giant pandas from being imported into the U.S. except under certain conditions.
