Personal Statement: Describe Yourself
Describe Yourself *
What are your key skills and strengths? What are your weaknesses? Please address leadership,
communication, and organizational skills. Also address dependability.
I am an extremely enthusiastic and self motivated individual. My various volunteer and work
experiences have fine tuned my teamwork and communication skills. To start, I have volunteered
/worked in every aspect and role of a team. For example, I volunteered for a 4 month season as a
soccer coach. I was in charge of 10–12 kids and had responsibilities that included leading drills,
setting up practice times, and building team spirit. I have also been a player and captain from
September 2012–May 2016 for my high school cricket team. Starting in grade 9 as a substitute, I

I hope to gain hands on experience of biomedical designing and the process it requires to go from
ideas to tangible products for consumer use. I hope to specialize in biomedical instrumentation in
the future, and starting with TETRA during my first year would be an amazing start to my
journey. I hope to gain some programming and electronics knowledge with TETRA as well,
which I have mentioned as one of weak areas in the previous question. Also, joining TETRA and
being a part of something outside of school will keep me in the loop of why I choose to do
biomedical Engineering as my undergraduate program. I hope to relate things I learn in lectures and
class with the tasks I will have to do at TETRA. This way I have a direct connection between my
education and how it applies to the real world. I also hope to create a tangible product and be able
to contribute effectively. As a first year, I hope I can gain enough knowledge this year to make a
bigger contributions in my senior years at Ryerson. As a whole, TETRA is the perfect stepping
stone to where I want to be in the future

Personal Self Assessment Essay
Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more
about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process.
You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I
plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success
in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science.Self Assessment is
the first step in my successful future.
I can remember in high school, it seemed like I was always one of the last students finished with a
test.
I was sometimes slower at completing a written paper or an assignment. In open discussions...show

I have discovered some interesting things I have noticed in myself before taking this course. For
example, my learning style I have noticed is the visual learning style.
With this, I prefer to see and read information to full gain comprehension. If I forget the data, or
not clearly understand it the first time read, I have the option of reading it over. I do not always
trust myself to absorb all information the first time around. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes
help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after
writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at
least I know what they mean.
I like to take my time with material, but am not always given the allotted time to do so. I also like
to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted
it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this
far, it must work out for me.
I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by
others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material
being discussed. If I have no idea what is being addressed, I am better of keeping quiet to save
myself from

Defining Myself Essay
Sometimes a person may feel that they have no purpose in life. Finding out who you are just
takes the time of sitting down and thinking of the importance in your life. Who am I? I am
Mercedes Kimberly Kingston, and I am a person with different personalities, characteristics, and
identities. The many ways, in which I identify myself, in fact, are the ways that define who I am.
My Identity is something only I can fully define. I have a little brother, which makes me a sister; I
have two loving parents, which makes me a daughter; I am in college studying medicine, which
makes me a student; and I have wonderful friends in desperate need of support, which makes me a
wonderful best friend. Before anything, I am a big sister to...show more content...
It is seen as an essential part of learning and using what you learn in class. But when you get loads of
class work and have very little time to finish it, then it becomes an unnecessary burden. Yet,
sometimes, for me, it is the fact that I procrastinate that prevents me from completing a task. For
college student, like myself who is working to pay for college, large amounts of class work
usually brings lots of stress and fear of not being able to get good grades in many of my classes.
Yet, I have support from my family, friends, and some peers who encourage me to put up a good
fight in reaching my goal. I am a student that has gone through so much to get here, where I am.
There were times that I had strong feelings that I would never be in college, just because of the
negative energy I forced upon myself. Since pre–K, I have had this problem that if I can't do
something I just give up, and stop trying. I still have this problem, but I have learned to get a control
on it. The biggest problem was graduating from high school. I never thought that I would ever
graduate. But I knew, as a student, I should at least try and show my teachers that I am putting effort.
And now, I'm in college, studying pre–med, and hoping to become either a pediatrician, or a NFL
Doctor. Growing up as a daughter to a single mom, was, I think, the best experience ever. I was, and
am still, very spoiled. I always had everything that I ever wanted. And

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests
and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some
factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a
person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture
may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and
sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a
person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set
individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet...show more content...
Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends
I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music'
is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of
adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart
pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I
love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be
on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics
that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly
consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering
(especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is
measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very
strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that,
although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will
not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a
person's identity. I have not had too many educational

Describe Yourself As A Writer
When I was young, I always knew that college is important to the major that you choose. When I
see my aunt, I ask many questions about college and how it is like. I thought it would be
challenging and stressful. Then it was stressful because I want to improve my writing. When I see
myself as a writer, I think about the process, then I consider the improvements I need to make, and
lastly the strengths I have.
First, I think about the writing process. When the teacher or professor give me an essay, I start right
away. I start right away because I don't want my work to be late and I have other assignment to do
for other classes. Once I read the prompt, I start my outline to know what to write in my essay. I just
think about what I know and don't know, then put it onto paper. For the outline, I will do sentences
or sometimes words only. It depends on the topic or essay I write. I find the outline is a helpful way
to get started.
After the outline, I start researching the topic. I use the internet for the research. I use it because it
is helpful. It is helpful because I take examples of how to start. I use google and look at images of
essays. It provides inspiration for the essay....show more content...

Essay About Myself
There are three very important aspects that play a major rule in my life. They can be categorized as
intellectual, social, and spiritual. My intellectual self is interesting because I am mainly
right–brained which means that I tend to use my creativity more than my mathematical skills, also
making me a visual learner. My social self consists of friends, family, and my surroundings. I spend
most of my time at home with my family. Whenever I am with my friends, I observe their behaviors
and listen to their opinions. I am more of an independent type of person. Being with different people
has influenced me into appreciating different cultures and beliefs. I have learned things that have

I find that I can only recall long–term memories if they are important to me, or if they are dramatic
experiences. A few examples of my childhood memories are my mother reading to me, my
grandfather playing his guitar, and my dad relentlessly teaching me how to ice skate, no matter
how many times I fell. The people who affect my social life the most are my family and friends. I
have an extremely close family that has played a major role in my life. They are whom I spend
most of my spare time with. My family usually gathers every weekend for dinner. I am also very
open to different religions, cultures, and practices because I know many people with different
backgrounds and beliefs. Since I've been influenced by various people, I've learned at a very
young age to never judge people by how they look, dress, feel, or act. I am very fortunate to have
learned these lessons, because many people still do not understand the importance of accepting
differences. In a group, I prefer to listen to what others have to say, and then contribute to the
discussion. I try to listen so I am able to compare them to my own thoughts. I enjoy working in a
group, because it gives everyone an opportunity to incorporate their own ideas. My social self is
most greatly influenced by my family and friends. I believe that my spiritual self is the most
important out of the three. Although I have a certain religion that I belong to and practice, I believe

I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss
who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on
myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better
understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself

a different person than I am today. I was born inAberdeen Scotland but raised in Fort Bend County

grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's

people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group
projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work
together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them.
Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic
circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme
gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a
family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities.
One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a

3 Adjectives To Describe Yourself
List three adjectives that describe how you see yourself. Give examples to explain why you chose
these adjectives. Three adjectives that I would use to describe myself are thoughtful, passionate, and
strong–willed. I chose thoughtful because I think that when I am in a situation, I am not passing
through it, onto the next thing without thinking. I am, in many cases, critically thinking and
analyzing what is happening around me. I am often very critical, which can be beneficial, but in
most cases, somewhat hinders me. However, I believe that in a situation, I process what is
occurring around me and contemplate and analyze. For example, on a family trip to Sicily, we
attended many local churches, some of the most beautiful I have ever seen,

Describe Yourself Analysis
Asking someone to describe themselves isn't always the easiest task, nor is it necessarily the
most accurate one. Like anyone, my personality and my demeanor changes, even slightly,
depending on who I'm around and my comfort level. Something that is dying off with each
generation, seems to be a person's ability to switch between formal and informal (both in speech
and actions), dependent on if they are with their elders or friends. I have always prided myself on
my ability to know when to make this shift and give respect when respect is due. With my friends,
I might be more open and creative, with my peers whom I don't really know, I might be more
reserved and quiet. Essentially, what I'm trying to get at is this: you are all going to have your own

As far back as I can remember, I have always been the shy one. My sisters, all beautiful and unique
themselves, tended to fall in the popular side of the spectrum. They got by amazingly well with
large friend groups, and thrived by being around others. I have always fallen closer to the other
end of that spectrum. I thrived best with a few close friends that I hold in the highest regard, and
did just fine being on my own and left to my thoughts. I have always enjoyed exploring the world
without letting the biases of others cloud my own judgement. That's not to say I didn't partake in
my fair share of larger group organizations, of course. In fact, I have been a softball player all my
life, and from the age of 10 all the way to 17, I had been involved in the competitive world of
travel softball. I had to suck up my shyness and anxieties when it came to the countless tryouts I
endured. The team dynamic is dependent on sacrifice and compromise, both of which I learned how

Describe your personality using a color, animal, or an object of your choice.
If I had to describe myself as an animal, I would choose a dog. Surprisingly, I didn't just choose
this because I like dogs. Don't get me wrong dogs are fantastic; but I chose a dog because of its
characteristics. Everyone knows about that little dog that barks louder than any dog on the block.
That dog is me; except lucky for you I don't bark, nor am I covered in hair with a tail. What I mean
to say is, from a distance I might seem intimidating, but once you come closer and get to know me
you'll realize I 'm actually a teddy bear. (metaphorically of course) I love to greet people, whether
it be friends or family, with open arms and make them feel welcome and at home. Also, I'm always
there for anybody around me who may need some extra support. This could mean anything from
running an errand for my mom or being a shoulder to cry on for a friend. One possible negative
personality trait I share with dogs is occasionally being overprotective. I say this is negative very
cautiously, because it is not always bad. I never want to see anybody get hurt. This leads to me
always having my friends' and family's back, even when they may not want me to be there. In that
way, I am similar to a dog.

Social Self
THE SOCIAL SELF
The way we define who we are is a direct result of what we know. In basic terms, the Social Self is
defined as how an individual interacts with the social world presented to him and how he
approaches the formation of relationships. Mental images of how I see myself play a big role also
such as physical appearance, accomplishments, roles, and skills. It is self–awareness process that can
sometimes be difficult. Within everyday life people believe themselves to be constantly changing.
In actuality, the changes that one believes to have are but minor changes. A person's personality is
usually set at an early age in childhood. This process begins around six or seven months when
children begin to realize "themselfs" as...show more content...
Identityy achievement comes from many years of exploring different roles and personalities. For
example a person who thinks negatively of him self and others, is going to shy away from
attachment and be socially avoidant which obviously is going to affect the crisis of intimacy versus
isolation. So personal identity plays a major part in my quest for self–knowledge, but its up to me to
choose my own identity. God created all men equally, but it is up to us to determine whom we
ultimately want to be.
Self esteem basically means that we should like ourselves, feel positive about yourself and
respect your own worth. Feeling positive about yourself can determine how you perform. When we
respect ourselves and feel really good in ourselves, we will do better at school, enjoy life, make new
friends quickly, and we are more consciously aware and in control of our behaviour. I believe a
person's self–esteem begins to take shape at an early age, with their parents being a major influence.
Parents who do not feel good about themselves or others, sometimes take it out on their childern by
belittling them or discouraging them. This leads the child down a path of self–doubt and eventually
given the right circumstances a lower self–esteem. In most cases, children with low self–esteem feel
that the important adults and peers in their lives do not accept them, do not care about them very
much, and would not go out of their way to ensure

My Personal Qualities
Over the course, I have learned that all people are unique and have their own personal traits and
qualities. One person does not just simply fall into one category, but various categories. What is
beautiful about all of us is that we all have diverse personalities, traits and qualities. I have learned
that we should be proud of and embrace these unique qualities of ours.
As a perfectionist, I like to present my things beautifully and creatively, and it is clearly seen on

I know and I have been told that I am a kind and sympathetic person, because I love to help people

a pretty heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul". I chose to use this quote because I adore it
and I go by it. What matters most is in the inside, not on the outside. I think people sometimes, even
me, get too caught up and try too hard to look beautiful, but they don't focus on personality.
A) I expected to get artistic, creative and investigative as my results on surveys that I took, because
I already knew I had these traits as a part of my personality. However, the results from mylearning

results have their little differences, but that shows people do change over time. Learning styles can
be learned and strengthened.
I learned plenty of things from my results. My values–which I didn't see clearly–are now clear, and I

I Must Describe My Attitude And Behavior

Behavior : I would describe the messages that my nonverbal behavior send is that I act very
approachable to others, people always tell me that I am always happy and smiling, and that
whenever people see me I am always smiling. Listening skills: The way that I would describe
myself when listening to others is first I let them speak to get their whole point across. I
sometimes interrupt, and I also ask questions, as well as pay close attention to what the person is
saying but I also tend to dose off somewhere else, and I do get easily distracted by noises, or other
conversations. I sometimes tend to connect to my own experiences but, often take the focus off

people my age find me less approachable, because of my lack of confidence. But older people
children find me very approachable, kind, and warm that is because I am more confident with that

shown through my determination and hard work because if I didn't believe in myself I wouldn't try

psychodynamic does because it involves nature vs. nurture and that kind of sums it up just saying
that. Environment and Heredity is kind of the main reasons of my attitudes and actions. In the
article, Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Briggs conducts different forms of
psychotherapy techniques to prove whether things in an adolescent's life effect different adolescents
differently. His study was a success and proved that many adolescents have different interpretations
on the same issue. He read them off different problems and wanted to see how they would interpret
them. He used children in the age groups of 12–17 and it worked out. I think that the different
approaches can be brought together in some circumstances but in my case it doesn't. My personality

are small and bright. My lips are puffy and big, I have white teeth, which brings out my smile. My

and I weigh 195 pounds. I have broad shoulders and a full figured body. My favorite part about my
physical body is my smile. Smiling brings out my inner beauty and I love to smile a lot even

I may be hurt inside. I smile through my pain, and I know that smiling can brighten up someone

your personal academic and non–academic experiences.
A sophomore at Downtown Magnets High School, I demonstrate passion in my education, ambition
in fulfilling my personal and academic goals, and am an explorative student. My passion for learning
is the result of my mindset, in that aside from finding education a necessity, it is enjoyable,
challenging, and beneficial in fulfilling my future aspirations. For example, I find my Honors
Advanced Mathematics class my most unique course. It builds upon my ability to critically think,
present data or information, and understand higher–level math at a rapid pace. In particular, it is the
ability to solve real–world situations and the underlying mystery mathematicians have yet to solve
that intrigues me to continue learning. The class expects much of me, but I am aware that it is
preparing me for college– and university–level math while providing me with the skills to pursue a
career in Architectural/ Structural Engineering. Ambitious, I set objectives for myself and arrange to
accomplish and excel in the process. For instance, I participated in my middle school's academic
decathlon with a chance to represent my school in the mathematics single–subject exam. In doing so,
I attempted to score a near perfect to perfect score. While the competition did not end the way I
expected, I successfully gained a flawless score on the questions

Describe Yourself Essay Sample

  • 1. Personal Statement: Describe Yourself Describe Yourself * What are your key skills and strengths? What are your weaknesses? Please address leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Also address dependability. I am an extremely enthusiastic and self motivated individual. My various volunteer and work experiences have fine tuned my teamwork and communication skills. To start, I have volunteered /worked in every aspect and role of a team. For example, I volunteered for a 4 month season as a soccer coach. I was in charge of 10–12 kids and had responsibilities that included leading drills, setting up practice times, and building team spirit. I have also been a player and captain from September 2012–May 2016 for my high school cricket team. Starting in grade 9 as a substitute, I worked my way up into the...show more content... I hope to gain hands on experience of biomedical designing and the process it requires to go from ideas to tangible products for consumer use. I hope to specialize in biomedical instrumentation in the future, and starting with TETRA during my first year would be an amazing start to my journey. I hope to gain some programming and electronics knowledge with TETRA as well, which I have mentioned as one of weak areas in the previous question. Also, joining TETRA and being a part of something outside of school will keep me in the loop of why I choose to do biomedical Engineering as my undergraduate program. I hope to relate things I learn in lectures and class with the tasks I will have to do at TETRA. This way I have a direct connection between my education and how it applies to the real world. I also hope to create a tangible product and be able to contribute effectively. As a first year, I hope I can gain enough knowledge this year to make a bigger contributions in my senior years at Ryerson. As a whole, TETRA is the perfect stepping stone to where I want to be in the future Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Self Assessment Essay Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science.Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future. I can remember in high school, it seemed like I was always one of the last students finished with a test. I was sometimes slower at completing a written paper or an assignment. In open discussions...show more content... I have discovered some interesting things I have noticed in myself before taking this course. For example, my learning style I have noticed is the visual learning style. With this, I prefer to see and read information to full gain comprehension. If I forget the data, or not clearly understand it the first time read, I have the option of reading it over. I do not always trust myself to absorb all information the first time around. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at least I know what they mean. I like to take my time with material, but am not always given the allotted time to do so. I also like to keep a written list of things to do to refer to. I am comfortable with my learning style, accepted it as my very own. I am not sure if changing it this late in life is such a good idea. I have got by this far, it must work out for me. I have identified my personality style as being extroverted, one who becomes easily energized by others, and outwardly expressing thoughts as long as I am fully understanding context and material being discussed. If I have no idea what is being addressed, I am better of keeping quiet to save myself from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Defining Myself Essay Sometimes a person may feel that they have no purpose in life. Finding out who you are just takes the time of sitting down and thinking of the importance in your life. Who am I? I am Mercedes Kimberly Kingston, and I am a person with different personalities, characteristics, and identities. The many ways, in which I identify myself, in fact, are the ways that define who I am. My Identity is something only I can fully define. I have a little brother, which makes me a sister; I have two loving parents, which makes me a daughter; I am in college studying medicine, which makes me a student; and I have wonderful friends in desperate need of support, which makes me a wonderful best friend. Before anything, I am a big sister to...show more content... It is seen as an essential part of learning and using what you learn in class. But when you get loads of class work and have very little time to finish it, then it becomes an unnecessary burden. Yet, sometimes, for me, it is the fact that I procrastinate that prevents me from completing a task. For college student, like myself who is working to pay for college, large amounts of class work usually brings lots of stress and fear of not being able to get good grades in many of my classes. Yet, I have support from my family, friends, and some peers who encourage me to put up a good fight in reaching my goal. I am a student that has gone through so much to get here, where I am. There were times that I had strong feelings that I would never be in college, just because of the negative energy I forced upon myself. Since pre–K, I have had this problem that if I can't do something I just give up, and stop trying. I still have this problem, but I have learned to get a control on it. The biggest problem was graduating from high school. I never thought that I would ever graduate. But I knew, as a student, I should at least try and show my teachers that I am putting effort. And now, I'm in college, studying pre–med, and hoping to become either a pediatrician, or a NFL Doctor. Growing up as a daughter to a single mom, was, I think, the best experience ever. I was, and am still, very spoiled. I always had everything that I ever wanted. And Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Personal Identity Essay A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet...show more content... Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have not had too many educational Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I thought it would be challenging and stressful. Then it was stressful because I want to improve my writing. When I see myself as a writer, I think about the process, then I consider the improvements I need to make, and lastly the strengths I have. First, I think about the writing process. When the teacher or professor give me an essay, I start right away. I start right away because I don't want my work to be late and I have other assignment to do for other classes. Once I read the prompt, I start my outline to know what to write in my essay. I just think about what I know and don't know, then put it onto paper. For the outline, I will do sentences or sometimes words only. It depends on the topic or essay I write. I find the outline is a helpful way to get started. After the outline, I start researching the topic. I use the internet for the research. I use it because it is helpful. It is helpful because I take examples of how to start. • 7. Essay About Myself There are three very important aspects that play a major rule in my life. They can be categorized as intellectual, social, and spiritual. My intellectual self is interesting because I am mainly right–brained which means that I tend to use my creativity more than my mathematical skills, also making me a visual learner. My social self consists of friends, family, and my surroundings. I spend most of my time at home with my family. Whenever I am with my friends, I observe their behaviors and listen to their opinions. I am more of an independent type of person. Being with different people has influenced me into appreciating different cultures and beliefs. A few examples of my childhood memories are my mother reading to me, my grandfather playing his guitar, and my dad relentlessly teaching me how to ice skate, no matter how many times I fell. The people who affect my social life the most are my family and friends. I have an extremely close family that has played a major role in my life. They are whom I spend most of my spare time with. My family usually gathers every weekend for dinner. I am also very open to different religions, cultures, and practices because I know many people with different backgrounds and beliefs. Since I've been influenced by various people, I've learned at a very young age to never judge people by how they look, dress, feel, or act. I am very fortunate to have learned these lessons, because many people still do not understand the importance of accepting differences. In a group, I prefer to listen to what others have to say, and then contribute to the discussion. I try to listen so I am able to compare them to my own thoughts. I enjoy working in a group, because it gives everyone an opportunity to incorporate their own ideas. My social self is most greatly influenced by my family and friends. I believe that my spiritual self is the most important out of the three. Although I have a certain religion that I belong to and practice, I believe in a bit of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In order for me to dIscuss who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any differently I would be a different person than I am today. I have always grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's houses and hear them communicating in another language. On top of all of this meeting different people has also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them. Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities. One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other competitors and break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another Opportunity I am grateful for is the skill of playing the piano. • 9. 3 Adjectives To Describe Yourself List three adjectives that describe how you see yourself. Give examples to explain why you chose these adjectives. Three adjectives that I would use to describe myself are thoughtful, passionate, and strong–willed. I chose thoughtful because I think that when I am in a situation, I am not passing through it, onto the next thing without thinking. I am, in many cases, critically thinking and analyzing what is happening around me. I am often very critical, which can be beneficial, but in most cases, somewhat hinders me. However, I believe that in a situation, I process what is occurring around me and contemplate and analyze. For example, on a family trip to Sicily, we attended many local churches, some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Describe Yourself Analysis Asking someone to describe themselves isn't always the easiest task, nor is it necessarily the most accurate one. Like anyone, my personality and my demeanor changes, even slightly, depending on who I'm around and my comfort level. Something that is dying off with each generation, seems to be a person's ability to switch between formal and informal (both in speech and actions), dependent on if they are with their elders or friends. I have always prided myself on my ability to know when to make this shift and give respect when respect is due. With my friends, I might be more open and creative, with my peers whom I don't really know, I might be more reserved and quiet. Essentially, what I'm trying to get at is this: you are all going to have your own unique and individual description of me....show more content... As far back as I can remember, I have always been the shy one. My sisters, all beautiful and unique themselves, tended to fall in the popular side of the spectrum. They got by amazingly well with large friend groups, and thrived by being around others. I have always fallen closer to the other end of that spectrum. I thrived best with a few close friends that I hold in the highest regard, and did just fine being on my own and left to my thoughts. I have always enjoyed exploring the world without letting the biases of others cloud my own judgement. That's not to say I didn't partake in my fair share of larger group organizations, of course. In fact, I have been a softball player all my life, and from the age of 10 all the way to 17, I had been involved in the competitive world of travel softball. I had to suck up my shyness and anxieties when it came to the countless tryouts I endured. The team dynamic is dependent on sacrifice and compromise, both of which I learned how to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Describe your personality using a color, animal, or an object of your choice. If I had to describe myself as an animal, I would choose a dog. Surprisingly, I didn't just choose this because I like dogs. Don't get me wrong dogs are fantastic; but I chose a dog because of its characteristics. Everyone knows about that little dog that barks louder than any dog on the block. That dog is me; except lucky for you I don't bark, nor am I covered in hair with a tail. What I mean to say is, from a distance I might seem intimidating, but once you come closer and get to know me you'll realize I 'm actually a teddy bear. (metaphorically of course) I love to greet people, whether it be friends or family, with open arms and make them feel welcome and at home. Also, I'm always there for anybody around me who may need some extra support. This could mean anything from running an errand for my mom or being a shoulder to cry on for a friend. One possible negative personality trait I share with dogs is occasionally being overprotective. I say this is negative very cautiously, because it is not always bad. I never want to see anybody get hurt. This leads to me always having my friends' and family's back, even when they may not want me to be there. In that way, I am similar to a dog. 2. My parents would also describe me as hardworking perosn because they have always seen me studying hard and maintaining my officers position in the club. • 14. Three Words To Describe Me The three words I would use to describe myself are; sincere, compassionate, and dedicated. Each word describes me in every part of my life; by myself, at school, and in public. I would describe myself as sincere because I am true to myself. I am easygoing, calm and enjoy talking and meeting with new people. In other words, I'm not shy. The second word that best describes me is compassionate because I recognize the care I have for others. I came to this realization when I looked at what gave me true happiness and satisfaction, and noticed that it was when I helped people in need, I attained and was filled with genuine happiness. • 15. Social Self THE SOCIAL SELF The way we define who we are is a direct result of what we know. In basic terms, the Social Self is defined as how an individual interacts with the social world presented to him and how he approaches the formation of relationships. Mental images of how I see myself play a big role also such as physical appearance, accomplishments, roles, and skills. It is self–awareness process that can sometimes be difficult. Within everyday life people believe themselves to be constantly changing. In actuality, the changes that one believes to have are but minor changes. A person's personality is usually set at an early age in childhood. This process begins around six or seven months when children begin to realize "themselfs" as...show more content... Identityy achievement comes from many years of exploring different roles and personalities. For example a person who thinks negatively of him self and others, is going to shy away from attachment and be socially avoidant which obviously is going to affect the crisis of intimacy versus isolation. So personal identity plays a major part in my quest for self–knowledge, but its up to me to choose my own identity. God created all men equally, but it is up to us to determine whom we ultimately want to be. Self esteem basically means that we should like ourselves, feel positive about yourself and respect your own worth. Feeling positive about yourself can determine how you perform. When we respect ourselves and feel really good in ourselves, we will do better at school, enjoy life, make new friends quickly, and we are more consciously aware and in control of our behaviour. I believe a person's self–esteem begins to take shape at an early age, with their parents being a major influence. Parents who do not feel good about themselves or others, sometimes take it out on their childern by belittling them or discouraging them. This leads the child down a path of self–doubt and eventually given the right circumstances a lower self–esteem. In most cases, children with low self–esteem feel that the important adults and peers in their lives do not accept them, do not care about them very much, and would not go out of their way to ensure Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Personal Essay : My Personal Qualities My Personal Qualities Over the course, I have learned that all people are unique and have their own personal traits and qualities. One person does not just simply fall into one category, but various categories. What is beautiful about all of us is that we all have diverse personalities, traits and qualities. I have learned that we should be proud of and embrace these unique qualities of ours. As a perfectionist, I like to present my things beautifully and creatively, and it is clearly seen on my collage. I appreciate beautiful things and this is why I got beauty/aesthetics as one of my highest totals on the values survey. On my collage, I put a picture of a microscope, with the circular flask and test tubes. I also...show more content... I know and I have been told that I am a kind and sympathetic person, because I love to help people and put a smile on their faces. Even when someone is being rude, I try to "kill them with kindness" in return. I used the quote: "Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul". I chose to use this quote because I adore it and I go by it. What matters most is in the inside, not on the outside. I think people sometimes, even me, get too caught up and try too hard to look beautiful, but they don't focus on personality. A) I expected to get artistic, creative and investigative as my results on surveys that I took, because I already knew I had these traits as a part of my personality. However, the results from mylearning styles survey were a little surprising to me. I got visual as my highest total score, while kinesthetic and auditory were almost balanced out scores. The reason why I was a little surprised was that last year, I took a survey to figure out my learning style, and I got both auditory and visual learner. The results have their little differences, but that shows people do change over time. Learning styles can be learned and strengthened. I learned plenty of things from my results. My values–which I didn't see clearly–are now clear, and I found out the little unique things that make up my personality. From my personality survey, I am mostly artistic, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. I Must Describe My Attitude And Behavior The way that I would describe my attitude and behavior when relating with people is alright in my opinion I believe that I do not come off as being rude, as being caring, and sincere. The way that I would describe myself in stressful situations is that I tend to panic right away instead of stopping and thinking what should I do to resolve this problem. Instead of panicking and stressing out right away maybe I should ask the other person what I should do or what they would do. Non– Verbal Behavior : I would describe the messages that my nonverbal behavior send is that I act very approachable to others, people always tell me that I am always happy and smiling, and that whenever people see me I am always smiling. Listening skills: The way that I would describe myself when listening to others is first I let them speak to get their whole point across. I sometimes interrupt, and I also ask questions, as well as pay close attention to what the person is saying but I also tend to dose off somewhere else, and I do get easily distracted by noises, or other conversations. I sometimes tend to connect to my own experiences but, often take the focus off the other person and go on and on. I would describe myself as being warm to people, but young people my age find me less approachable, because of my lack of confidence. But older people children find me very approachable, kind, and warm that is because I am more confident with that age group. Some people have told me that my face Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Essay on Me Myself and Personality Traits Me Myself and Personality Traits When asked to describe myself I never know what to say, but I should know myself the best, right? I like to look at myself as a genuine, thoughtful young lady. I'm a hard worker; I believe nothing is ever handed to you so you have to go get it. I worked hard to get to this point of my life and working even harder to get to the successful and graduate part of my life. I care more for some others than I do myself but I have a huge nonchalant attitude. I don't really show anger or sadness much I always smile because I'm optimistic about life. I look at life as if something bad comes along, no need to dwell on it you can't take it back so just move–on and improve what you did wrong if it's possible....show more content... I was taught to be caring and thoughtful; I wasn't taught anything else from anyone other than not to trust people. I'm the odd ball of my family because I am nothing like anyone. I can say I was also taught to believe in myself and never down myself because I can accomplish anything. That is shown through my determination and hard work because if I didn't believe in myself I wouldn't try as hard. Last but not all, Humanistic approach sums up my personality a little more than psychodynamic does because it involves nature vs. nurture and that kind of sums it up just saying that. Environment and Heredity is kind of the main reasons of my attitudes and actions. In the article, Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Briggs conducts different forms of psychotherapy techniques to prove whether things in an adolescent's life effect different adolescents differently. His study was a success and proved that many adolescents have different interpretations on the same issue. He read them off different problems and wanted to see how they would interpret them. He used children in the age groups of 12–17 and it worked out. I think that the different approaches can be brought together in some circumstances but in my case it doesn't. My personality makes more sense coming from the humanistic approach. Briggs, Stephen (2010). Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Adolescents and Young Adults. • 19. Description Of My Physical Body Describing my physical body, I have an oval head shape and I have fair skin complexion. My eyes are small and bright. My lips are puffy and big, I have white teeth, which brings out my smile. My siblings always make jokes about how big my nose is, but I honestly think that I have the cutest noise on earth. My nose is wide and curved. My eyebrows are not thick, but I love them and they make look different. This because I have a cut in between my left eyebrows and it makes me different. The color of my hair is brown, the texture is kinky and it is long and thick. I am 5'11 and I weigh 195 pounds. I have broad shoulders and a full figured body. My favorite part about my physical body is my smile. Smiling brings out my inner beauty and I love to smile a lot even when I am down. I can never go a day without smiling. I know that I can always smile even though I may be hurt inside. I smile through my pain, and I know that smiling can brighten up someone else's day and that makes me feel good about myself. It is good to smile because it can help others think about me in a positive way and not judge. It also draws people closer and they find it comforting and warming. • 20. Describe Myself As A Student Describe yourself as a student and also your aspirations for the future. Please include examples from your personal academic and non–academic experiences. A sophomore at Downtown Magnets High School, I demonstrate passion in my education, ambition in fulfilling my personal and academic goals, and am an explorative student. My passion for learning is the result of my mindset, in that aside from finding education a necessity, it is enjoyable, challenging, and beneficial in fulfilling my future aspirations. For example, I find my Honors Advanced Mathematics class my most unique course. It builds upon my ability to critically think, present data or information, and understand higher–level math at a rapid pace. In particular, it is the ability to solve real–world situations and the underlying mystery mathematicians have yet to solve that intrigues me to continue learning. The class expects much of me, but I am aware that it is preparing me for college– and university–level math while providing me with the skills to pursue a career in Architectural/ Structural Engineering. Ambitious, I set objectives for myself and arrange to accomplish and excel in the process. For instance, I participated in my middle school's academic decathlon with a chance to represent my school in the mathematics single–subject exam. In doing so, I attempted to score a near perfect to perfect score. While the competition did not end the way I expected, I successfully gained a flawless score on the questions Get more content on HelpWriting.net
