• Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi, is the
first day that marks the festival of Diwali in India.
• It is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna
Paksha in the Hindu calendar month of Kartik.

• Choti Diwali is celebrated a day before Diwali.
• In many parts of the country, the festival is celebrated as
Naraka Chaturdashi.
• It was named after the great battle of Narakasura and
Lord Krishna

from his rule

• Diwali, the festival of lights, is also a festival of bringing
prosperity into our lives.
• Lakshmi Puja is celebrated by praying to Goddess Lakshmi.
• As per Hindu tradition, she is also considered the Goddess
of wealth and prosperity and is worshipped across India.

13. 4. Govardhan Puja
• Govardhan Puja is celebrated to mark the day when Lord
Krishna saved the people of Gokul from the anger of Lord
Indra, by lifting up the Govardhan hill, and lending them
shelter.
• Also known by the name of Annakut Puja, Govardhan
Puja is celebrated to honor Lord Krishna by offering
Chhappan Bhog.

14. 5. Bhai Dooj
• The celebrations of Bhai Dooj are very similar to Raksha
Bandhan, on this day sisters pray for a long and
prosperous life for their brothers, and brothers give gifts
to their sisters.
• According to Hindu mythology, Bhai
Dooj is celebrated to commemorate Lord Krishna's sister
Subhadra's loving gesture toward her brother.
