1) Bob was upset because another monster, Joe, said he wasn't scary. Bob's mom called the principal but Joe continued to bully Bob. 2) Joe hit Bob in the face and threatened to hurt him if he told. Bob stood up to Joe and called him a bully. 3) Bob found a mean note from Joe and tried to show his teacher, but she didn't believe him. However, Joe stopped bullying Bob after that. 4) Later, Bob saw Joe crying alone. Bob offered to be Joe's friend, and they ran off together.

2. One day Bob came home crying. Tears rolled down his face. "What is wrong?" asked mom
monster. "Joe said I was not scary," he replied. Mom called the principal while Bob ate his bacon and
sobbed. "Bob, I have good news. Joe will not make fun of you any more," said his mom. Bob sniffled,
"Okay." But the next day Bob came home crying. He did not tell his mom why. His spiky black hair was
caked with mud. Bob's green scales itched, and he wept softly.

3. Bob decided that he wood stand up to Joe. The next day Joe whacked Bob in the face. "Owww,"
wailed Bob. Joe told Bob that if he told an adult he would hurt him. Bob asked him not to do that. Joe
said that he wouldn't do that. Bob was determined that Joe not tease him any more. "You're a bully!"
screeched Bob.

4. The next day Bob found a note from Joe. It said, "YOU HAVE A CHUBBY TUMMY." Bob was angry.
"I will bring this note to the teacher," said Bob to himself. Bob was about to explode with anger. "I will
tell Mrs. Roy. She is nice," he thought. When he got to school Bob told Mrs. Roy. She did not believe
him at all. Bob was so angry! "But he did write the note," sniffled Bob. "Alright, you can go back to your
class," said Mrs. Roy. "Okay," muttered Bob under his breath.

5. At recess Bob saw Joe. He hid behind the rock wall. Joe saw him. He marched toward him. Joe
started teasing him. Bob ignored him. The next day Joe didn't tease him, or the next day, or the next
day. Bob went back to playing on the monster bars.

6. Bob saw Joe. He was crying, and Bob asked him what was wrong. "I don't have any friends," said
Joe. "I will be your friend," replied Bob. Then they ran off.
