1. As a Membership Counselor for an in-shape Fitness facility
here in Silicon Valley, my day often begins with a question:
What is your fitness goal?
In life, the most rewarding journey's often begin with a simple
question. Tackling your fitness goals and taking charge of
your health is no different. It's a question I ask every
potential member, and whether you're the go-getter CEO of
a tech start-up looking to get back into athletic shape or the
blue-collar, hard-working man. Everyone is looking to tone
up the gut!
Through my interactions with these individuals, you quickly
realize that, whether you're in the boardroom or the weight
room, the principles are the same: if you set a goal and
maintain your focus, you can accomplish it.
A Personal Trainer should be more than just X's and O's,
reps and sets. With our members, I'm not just their fitness
adviser, I'm their motivator, their biggest cheerleader, and
more importantly their friend. I love interacting with our
members and building genuine bonds as well as muscle. I
often find that they inspire me just as much as I inspire them,
and I'm lucky to be able to call these people not just
members, but friends.
Asking people about their fitness goals, you never quite
know what to expect. Sometimes you'll get a generic answer
like: "I just want to incorporate more fitness into my everyday
lifestyle," and, other times, you'll get something very specific:
"I'm trying to find a serious relationship with the right person,
and I believe fitness is the path to achieving that goal." Other
gym-goers in the valley claim that they're there to blow off
steam and relieve stress and that doing so helps them be
2. more pro-active and productive at work.
Often, we get newcomers that aren't entirely sure why
they're there: "I just got into fitness because everyone in the
valley including my friends and co-workers are into it and I've
read so much about it." Whatever your goal, fitness level, or
motivation might be, I can help you reach that goal and make
it a reality, one workout at a time.
If you're in the valley and think that fitness is out of your
reach, you're missing out on a golden opportunity to become
the best version of yourself. Whether you want to look and
feel healthier, live a longer, fuller life, or fit into the clothes
you've always dreamed of wearing, I will be there to guide
you every step of the way. Whether on a personal, physical,
emotional, or professional level, my total mind and body, all-
hands-on-deck approach will give you the tools and
confidence you need to realize your maximum potential and
live the life you've always dreamed of living -- the life you
deserve.
As a former contract worker for one of the biggest tech
companies in the world, I empathize with the struggle, the
stress, and the pressure of modern life, the constant
balancing act we must all endure. In the modern business
model, long hours at a desk surrounded by trans fat,
processed food, and limited mobility is the new normal. With
the daily stress of work and home life taking up the bulk of
our time, it's easy to make excuses as to why we cannot
reach the fitness goals we set for ourselves especially when
Netflix and Doritos are calling to us.
Though we begin each year with the best intentions
regarding our overall fitness, by mid-February, those goals
3. and aspirations often get lost somewhere between a double
cheeseburger and a second helping of fries. There comes a
point where many individual feels as though he or she is too
far gone to make any significant changes, too over-the-hill to
begin anew, that the ship has sailed, the train has left the
station, and the horse has left the barn. I am here to tell you
that you can get over your fitness hump, that you can get
over that hurdle, break through that barrier, and overcome
that obstacle. If the ship sails, if the train leaves the station,
or if the horse leaves the barn, myself and In-shape fitness
can put you back where you belong: captaining that ship,
conducting that train, and saddling that horse. I will help put
you back in the drivers seat of your own destiny...where you
go from there is entirely up to you.
