Introspection Essay
The dictionary describes introspection as the examination or observation of one's own mental and
emotional processes. Kevin Woods stated, "Introspection are all about getting to know yourself at
the core, uncovering your values and then deciding for yourself what's the best action to take."
Your emotions and feelings play a major role in why we do things. If we listen to our feelings then
we can find more things about us that we didn't know. This could benefit us and help us appreciate
more things and live but also may make us overthink some times. Karl Perera mentioned,
"Introspection is good in small doses. If you are feeling very tired or have no energy and can't find a
solution as things keep rolling through your mind over and over then it is time to stop." Overall,
everyone connects with things differently; it is interesting to notice how you feel in certain situations.
I recently just lost a ring that was given to me a couple years ago. I was devastated and felt
irresponsible. I have always wanted a Pandora Ring so this devastation led me to get one. I did a
little research to figure which one I wanted on the Pandora website. My mom also had a Pandora
book that I gazed though. I narrowed it down to a rose gold or a silver ring. I figured once I got into

The American Dream Essay Intro
The best aspects from my essay were the intro and the use integrating quotes in the essay. I
believe that the intro was one of the best part because it followed the parts of a inverted pyramid
and that it grabs the reader and makes them want to read more. In the essay when it states
"Everyone has one dream or goal in life and there are certain characteristics one must possess to
achieve that dream, but things might get in the way of being able to achieve that dream", it makes
people think how is the american dream not achievable and what are the characteristics needed to try
to achieve the dream. This makes the reader want to continues to read. The use of intergrading
quotes was another thing that stood out in my essay. In examples such as, "At Rene's school his
class is sharing what they want to be when they are older and Rene shares with the class that he
would like to be an astronaut or an actor or a magician. His teacher responds to what he said...show

When I said "Although these pieces of evidence show that the American dream is achievable with
perseverance they are misleading because the American dream is not always achievable as
proven in the previous paragraphs", I was trying to make this my although claim and I felt as if I
could have made this a more prominent part of my essay to create a strong opposing paragraph. In
my conclusion i feel like i could have created a stronger closer by tying all the pieces of evidence
and saying something about how all of the show why the american dream in not guaranteed. Instead
I simply said "The characteristics needed to achieve the American Dream such as ambition,
opportunism and perseverance may help one achieve their dream, but it does not guarantee that they
will achieve their dream" I still think this is a pretty strong statement but it could have been

Hunger. Emptiness. Death. In the novel Night by Elie wiesel speaks about hunger as something all
jews were used to, empty and deprived of nutrition they were already dead. Hunger consumes all
hope and love that people have with one another.
Body Paragraph 1
In Night, hunger devours most relationships within the vile gates of auschwitz, for example when
Elie Wiesel was on the train cart he witnessed a son kill his own father for some crust "Meir, my
little Meir! Don't you recognize me... You're killing your father... I have bread... for you too..." (pg
101). From hunger a son betrayed his own father only to fill his stomach, in the end they both died
due to their desire to contain hunger. When Elie talks about how he didn't recognize

An Introduction to Globalization Essay
Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it
generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially
America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of
globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the
developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social
inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily
triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of
communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content...
We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the
Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite
different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you
are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India,
America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of
technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is
political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries,
which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the
activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the
dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized
world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their
self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent
on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other
national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the
international political elite. The last set

What Humanities Taught Me
What Humanities Has Taught Me
When someone talked about a humanities class, my thoughts automatically drifted to the arts. I
am not someone who is fond of art; it's nice to look at, but I never cared about why it was made.
This class was so much more than just art; it was a history lesson. The most important thing I
learned this semester was about myself. I have learned to never judge a book by its cover as I could
miss out on something great, and I will take this lesson with me in life. I will never judge a book (or
class) by its cover. I dreaded taking this class, because of a preconceived idea of what this class
would entail. I thought it would be a lot of information on the reason an artist chose to make a
particular piece, why they

A Career as a Registered Nurse Essay
A Registered Nurse is a person who enjoys helping other people. They practically have the
responsibility for many peoples lives. What's interesting about a Registered Nurse is that they get
to learn about all the parts of the human body. A Registered Nurse works in the medical field and
needs to be ready with anything that comes their way. There could be a sudden death, some kind
of medical issue that pops up, and even a patient just falls over and hurt themselves. As a
Registered Nurse they need to be able to deal with blood, snot, vomit etc. The main thing a
Registered Nurse has to be good at is being able, and wanting to help people in need. A Registered
Nurse typically tends to work in a clean and healthy work environment ("Registered...show more

rough times ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 47). An RN also needs to be organized, and to make
sure the patient gets what they need when needed ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 48). All RN's
will need to have the patients medical issues, and problems handy and to give the patients, and
their medicines when the patients need it ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 8). An RN will usually
records what the patient is doing, sometimes work with medical machinery, talk to doctors about
the patient, and help the patient and the patient's family on how to deal with their medical
problems ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 8). Another important thing that an RN will need is to
have the physical stamina and to be ready to lift or transfer patients ("Registered Nurses" U.S.
para. 49). An RN will have to be able to lift at least 10 pounds, maybe even 20 pounds ("Registered
Nurse" para. 4). A person in this career should have an energy level that is somewhat high, has a
skill that is interpersonal, and a knowledge that is a little scientific ("Career" para. 6). If you
happen to be an RN in a nursing home, an RN will watch over the LPN's and CNA's, may start

1.State why it is necessary to talk about concepts or ideas in philosophy of language in addition to
words. And state what issues result from recognizing concepts in addition to words.
It is very necessary to discuss concepts/ideas in philosophy in addition to words, it brings about the
relationship of generalization and common ground. This discussion also brings to the surface
questions about communication and understanding, how relevant or particular it is or not. How do
we know what someone is saying opposed to what they are thinking when there is a universal
language in which multiple words mean the same thing. So philosophy helps to bring about a better

done to fix this is few, there are too many individual perceptions of how things should be done and
what right or wrong. There is one in particular that stands out is compensation. It should be used to

Introduction to Business Essay
Introduction to Business
Business plays a major role within our society. It is a creative and competitive activity that
continuously contributes to the shaping of our society.
By satisfying the needs and wants people cannot satisfy themselves, businesses improve the quality
of life for people and create a higher standard of living.
It is a way for individuals to provide goods and services to consumers, and at the same time,
produce a profit for themselves. Businesses are not only important because they provide goods and
services for consumers, but they also improve the economy and increase jobs for people within
society which is an additional fact producing a higher standard of living. To measure our societies

Cultures surrounding businesses also play a major role. Abusiness must adapt to a changing society
with age, lifestyle, culture and location. When a business learns to adapt to these changes, it will be
profitable for both the business and consumers. Economic systems can be classified into three
categories. These include capitalism, socialism and communism. Pure capitalism is an unrestrained
freedom to buy, sell and compete. Private enterprises allow entrepreneurs to run businesses without
central government control and can operate within a free market. Capitalism is a system of true
private enterprise. Some aspects of capitalism are free choice, private ownership, private profit and
free competition. The only drawback of this type of system is that a company can operate with no
competition thereby creating a monopoly unfavorable for consumers. Socialism, on the other hand,
is a system where the production and distribution of industries are owned and operated by the
government. Officials directly manage some or all of the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing,
communication and transportation. This system is loosely regulated by the government. Finally,
communism replaces the operation of a free market almost entirely. Most of the rights enjoyed
within the capitalist system are denied and private ownership is prohibited. Business are controlled
by state planners and competition is almost

Early Childhood Education Essay examples
"Play is developmentally appropriate for primary–age children and can provide them with
opportunities that enrich the learning experience" (Copple & Bredekamp 2009). Early childhood
education holds two main focuses; a child–based focus and a family–based focus. Early childhood
education has positive outcomes on the child through their learning experiences, and their growth
and development. Based on the family, the results of early education happen through the
communication that the family has with the educators and by the encouragement they get from
within themselves, and also from the educators.
Children learn most of what they know through play. There are many ways in which a child learns

Educators can facilitate the children with different materials and environments in the classrooms that
are in the early learning centres. The children need to develop their minds cognitively. "Children
actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore their world" (Berk 2007). Children are
needing to develop their abilities through their play experiences, and also through their play
experiences, they can develop appropriately. Early childhood education plays a large part in a child's
early development. Children develop cognition through two main stages that Jean Piaget theorized.
The stages run from birth and infancy to school age children. Sensorimotor is the first stage and
goes from birth to about the age of two. This stage implies that the children learn about the
environment they live in and they learn this through the reflexes and movements they produce.
They also learn that they are separate people from their parents and they can say goodbye to them
and know they will come back. The second stage is called the preoperational stage. During this stage
of development, children will learn how to incorporate symbols to represent objects. This is also the
beginning of learning the alphabet and speech. The child is still very much egocentric at this point in
time, but with the help of understanding educators, the child will grow appropriately onto the next
stages of development. Finally, the children need to develop emotionally/socially.

Reflection Introduction To Sociology
Introduction to Sociology– Class Reflection This semester I took Introduction to Sociology. This
was one of the last classes for my prerequisite to the nursing program. I put this class off because I
failed to see how it would apply to my degree. However, despite my doubts, I found nearly all of the
materials and concepts to be applicable, to a certain agree, to my life, job, and education.
WHAT I LEARNED
Two topics within this sociology course stood out to me: the sociological function of the family and
the control theory that describes crime and social conformity. The control theory (Giddens 2016:
177) is the idea that crime and social control are like a tetter totter. Hirischi, a control theorist, says

IMPACT ON MY FUTURE Currently I am studying to be a registered nurse and I work as a nurse
aide at a hospital. Many subjects covered in this class related to what I am doing and hope to be
doing in the future. Chapter eighteen talked about health, illness, and sexuality. This chapter
defined the term sociology of the body, which is "a field that focuses on how our health and
illness are affected by social and cultural influences" (Giddens, 2016: 583). As a nurse aide, I see a
lot of different people from very different social and cultural background. Each handles illness in
very different ways, some choose to endure their illness alone while others have family beside them
at all time. So people refuse to have male nurse and others refuse to allow female nurses perform
certain procedures. All of these things reflect their social and cultural upbringing.
HOW SOCIOLOGY CAN HELP How can sociology help people be better citizens, workers, and
family members? First and foremost is by understanding what sociology is and why people study
it. Next people need to understand culture and how culture is one of the main reasons people grow
up so differently and why there are so many different groups of people. The definition of culture is
"the values, norms, and material goods characteristic of a given group"

BRAVE NEW WORLD
Introduction
This novel was written by Aldous Huxley in 1932.
It is a fable about a world state in the 7th century A.F. (after Ford), where social stability is based on
a scientific caste system. Human beings, graded from highest intellectuals to lowest manual workers,
hatched from incubators and brought up in communal nurseries, learn by methodical conditioning to
accept they social destiny. The action of the story develops round Bernard Marx, and an unorthodox

Introduction Of The Insurance Industry Essay
Introduction to the Insurance Industry The insurance industry exists to provide effective risk
management services to protect customers. Insurers charge a premium for coverage against specific
risks including motor vehicle accidents, house fires, illnesses, etc. In the event of an accident,
insurance companies are required to pay for damages according to policy contracts. According to
Allstate Insurance: Building Relationships through Email Campaigns case study, "Insurance may be
the only product that people buy that they hope they will never use," (Tarter, Caravella, & Zahay).
The insurance industry has grown to be largely competitive, and has reached the heights of $140.1

Therefore, it strives to constantly improve its products so that it can continue to stay ahead of other

Life Or Death Essay
We are all aware of death, and we know it will come to us all. To many of us death brings a chill
down our spine ridden with fear, but to others it is ridden with strength and satisfaction of
accomplishment. Fortunately or unfortunately we are all condemned to death. However no one
knows when exactly the inevitable will approach, but we all know it is inescapable. But what
makes death seem more realistic to us and those in denial of it is the lucid pictures of people
suffering, in pain and those on their death bed before many of us can be rationale and accept the
truth. Someone once said, “Life is about 50–70 years of pain. One is born through the

This increase of love allows our mind to feel some sort of satisfaction that good can come out of
praying and if one was to die, our faith would tell us that we did our best. In other words, our love
towards our faith tends to be one of the strongest lifelines we can posses to reduce the guilt and pain
of those around us who are suffering.
For many of us who are in a relationship either by marriage or simply as mates can relate to the
feelings they are exhibited within and around one when they are with or simply thinking about
our mates. This feeling of security and belonging tends to increase our love towards each other,
especially during times of pain and death. We begin to see the world of insecurity and being
alone, a world of being abandoned and feeling useless. There are those who don’t
posses a “soul mate';, and nonetheless they too feel an increase of love; the love of
having a mate of being wanted and loved, and the feeling of not being alone.
As parents or parents to be, whether within months or years, we all as humans strive for one goal

Why Do We Dream? Essays
Why do we Dream?
It has been said by researchers that everyone dreams during sleep and it is thought to be a universal
psychical feature of our human lives. However, many of us are unable to recall vividly what happens
throughout our dreams, if anything at all. Due to this clouded unique nature that is dreaming, most
of the knowledge why we dream is largely inconclusive. Nonetheless, after many years of theoretical
debate on the subject, three arguments have remained prominent of which I will I will be discussing.
Perhaps the most renowned theory of dreaming comes from the famous psychologist, Dr Sigmund
Freud. He proposed that our dreams were likened to a В‘royal road' (Plotnik 2005) to our
unconscious thoughts and desires. In this...show more content...
Many have creditably theorised that dreams are extensions of our waking life. It is believed that this
close link between our daily lives and that of our dreams acts as a restorative function deeply
analysing our current В‘thoughts, fears, concerns, problems and emotions. Researchers have also
discovered that our dreaming can exhibit various other tasks including problem solving and the
enlightening of creativity. Such occurrences have been proven with musician Paul McCartney
having written the famous dream inspired hit В‘yesterday'. He recalls В‘I just woke up one morning
and I supposed I'd been dreaming or something and I'd got this little tune in my head'
(www0.bbc.co.uk/radio2/soldonsong/songlibrary/indepth/yesterday.shtml).
Dreaming can also be viewed in a more biological sense known as the activation–synthesis theory, in
which areas of our brain that are usually inactive while awake, are activated when asleep. The areas
stimulated have been found, due to Hobson's brain scans or the 1970's, to be that of visual (visual
cortex) and emotional (limbic system) areas of our brain. Such theory explains the random,
hallucinatory images induced by dreamers and the disorder of events remembered due to the inaction
of thought processing areas (prefrontal cortex).
In all, dreaming is a phenomenon that can generally be argued as serviceable to our being and is
certainly fascinating, however it's clear purposes remain uncertain.

The Effects Of Stress On Mental Health Essay
Introduction It is known that humans are naturally going to have stress in their lives. Stress is
caused by various events such as death of a spouse, paying bills and changes in common daily
functions. Different individuals interpret these events differently. Recent research has shown that
each person is different with how they cope throughout stressful situations (Pastorino &
Doyle–Portillo, 2016). The different situations of stress can cause mental health issues such as
depression, extreme exhaustion and anxiety (Pastorino & Doyle–Portillo, 2016). When these
disorders are diagnosed, they often are caused by the chemistry that a person has, socialization
factors, adolescent to adult development and the stressors that life brings. It is further known
through various studies there is a significant difference between the genders that are likely to end up
with a mental health issue such as depression. Although, within more recent studies have shown that
in college aged students, college women are more likely to become depressed throughout their
college career (Boggiano & Barrett, 1991). Depression is a common disorder that causes a person to
act and think negatively about their lives. Throughout the course of life, depression can be
significantly higher at certain points than others. Depression is commonly prominent throughout
college aged students, due to the many stressors that are constant in their lives. College aged students

"Macbeth" a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, portrays, how the main character Macbeth,

  • 3. Introspection Essay The dictionary describes introspection as the examination or observation of one's own mental and emotional processes. Kevin Woods stated, "Introspection are all about getting to know yourself at the core, uncovering your values and then deciding for yourself what's the best action to take." Your emotions and feelings play a major role in why we do things. If we listen to our feelings then we can find more things about us that we didn't know. This could benefit us and help us appreciate more things and live but also may make us overthink some times. Karl Perera mentioned, "Introspection is good in small doses. If you are feeling very tired or have no energy and can't find a solution as things keep rolling through your mind over and over then it is time to stop." Overall, everyone connects with things differently; it is interesting to notice how you feel in certain situations. I recently just lost a ring that was given to me a couple years ago. I was devastated and felt irresponsible. I have always wanted a Pandora Ring so this devastation led me to get one. I did a little research to figure which one I wanted on the Pandora website. My mom also had a Pandora book that I gazed though. I narrowed it down to a rose gold or a silver ring. I figured once I got into the...show more content... • 4. The American Dream Essay Intro The best aspects from my essay were the intro and the use integrating quotes in the essay. I believe that the intro was one of the best part because it followed the parts of a inverted pyramid and that it grabs the reader and makes them want to read more. In the essay when it states "Everyone has one dream or goal in life and there are certain characteristics one must possess to achieve that dream, but things might get in the way of being able to achieve that dream", it makes people think how is the american dream not achievable and what are the characteristics needed to try to achieve the dream. This makes the reader want to continues to read. The use of intergrading quotes was another thing that stood out in my essay. In examples such as, "At Rene's school his class is sharing what they want to be when they are older and Rene shares with the class that he would like to be an astronaut or an actor or a magician. His teacher responds to what he said...show more content... When I said "Although these pieces of evidence show that the American dream is achievable with perseverance they are misleading because the American dream is not always achievable as proven in the previous paragraphs", I was trying to make this my although claim and I felt as if I could have made this a more prominent part of my essay to create a strong opposing paragraph. In my conclusion i feel like i could have created a stronger closer by tying all the pieces of evidence and saying something about how all of the show why the american dream in not guaranteed. Instead I simply said "The characteristics needed to achieve the American Dream such as ambition, opportunism and perseverance may help one achieve their dream, but it does not guarantee that they will achieve their dream" I still think this is a pretty strong statement but it could have been Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In the novel Night by Elie wiesel speaks about hunger as something all jews were used to, empty and deprived of nutrition they were already dead. Hunger consumes all hope and love that people have with one another. Body Paragraph 1 In Night, hunger devours most relationships within the vile gates of auschwitz, for example when Elie Wiesel was on the train cart he witnessed a son kill his own father for some crust "Meir, my little Meir! Don't you recognize me... You're killing your father... I have bread... for you too..." (pg 101). From hunger a son betrayed his own father only to fill his stomach, in the end they both died due to their desire to contain hunger. • 6. An Introduction to Globalization Essay Globalization is a historical phenomenon that has been happening for decades now, and whether it generates growth or not is a matter of whose point of view it is. The western countries, especially America and some European nations, are the ones taking full advantage of the benefits of globalization. On the other hand, some experts say that globalization is not doing much for the developing countries, or that it may be even worsening their scenarios of poverty and social inequality. But, I will get back to that later . The point is that globalization, while it was primarily triggered by the emergence of a global market and facilitated by the democratization of communication technologies, also caused cultural, social and even political...show more content... We are in the era of free information flow and democratization of communication tools. Through the Internet, people are able to produce content and distribute it in many different ways to infinite different people. What is really amazing is that the idea of distance lost its significance. Now, you are able to communicate from your house in the south of Brazil with friends who live in India, America or any other place in the world. Messages are overcoming huge distances because of technological improvements and the implementation of global networks. The third movement is political. Basically, it means that since globalization implies a compression of national boundaries, which were brought about by the increase of trade at the global level, the importance of both the activity of international legal institutions and treats, like the World Trade Organization, and the dialogue between political leaders of different nations has risen significantly. Also, in the globalized world we see a quite interesting phenomenon: the importance given by nations' leaders to their self–image in the international political scene. Think this way: when countries were not dependent on the businesses they had with other countries why would presidents bother to be admired by other national leaders? What we see now is a scenario where nations' leaders struggle for status among the international political elite. The last set Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I am not someone who is fond of art; it's nice to look at, but I never cared about why it was made. This class was so much more than just art; it was a history lesson. The most important thing I learned this semester was about myself. I have learned to never judge a book by its cover as I could miss out on something great, and I will take this lesson with me in life. I will never judge a book (or class) by its cover. I dreaded taking this class, because of a preconceived idea of what this class would entail. What's interesting about a Registered Nurse is that they get to learn about all the parts of the human body. There could be a sudden death, some kind of medical issue that pops up, and even a patient just falls over and hurt themselves. All RN's will need to have the patients medical issues, and problems handy and to give the patients, and their medicines when the patients need it ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 8). An RN will usually records what the patient is doing, sometimes work with medical machinery, talk to doctors about the patient, and help the patient and the patient's family on how to deal with their medical problems ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 8). Another important thing that an RN will need is to have the physical stamina and to be ready to lift or transfer patients ("Registered Nurses" U.S. para. 49). An RN will have to be able to lift at least 10 pounds, maybe even 20 pounds ("Registered Nurse" para. 4). A person in this career should have an energy level that is somewhat high, has a skill that is interpersonal, and a knowledge that is a little scientific ("Career" para. 6). And state what issues result from recognizing concepts in addition to words. It is very necessary to discuss concepts/ideas in philosophy in addition to words, it brings about the relationship of generalization and common ground. This discussion also brings to the surface questions about communication and understanding, how relevant or particular it is or not. It is a creative and competitive activity that continuously contributes to the shaping of our society. By satisfying the needs and wants people cannot satisfy themselves, businesses improve the quality of life for people and create a higher standard of living. It is a way for individuals to provide goods and services to consumers, and at the same time, produce a profit for themselves. Businesses are not only important because they provide goods and services for consumers, but they also improve the economy and increase jobs for people within society which is an additional fact producing a higher standard of living. Abusiness must adapt to a changing society with age, lifestyle, culture and location. When a business learns to adapt to these changes, it will be profitable for both the business and consumers. Economic systems can be classified into three categories. These include capitalism, socialism and communism. Pure capitalism is an unrestrained freedom to buy, sell and compete. Private enterprises allow entrepreneurs to run businesses without central government control and can operate within a free market. Capitalism is a system of true private enterprise. Some aspects of capitalism are free choice, private ownership, private profit and free competition. The only drawback of this type of system is that a company can operate with no competition thereby creating a monopoly unfavorable for consumers. Socialism, on the other hand, is a system where the production and distribution of industries are owned and operated by the government. Officials directly manage some or all of the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing, communication and transportation. This system is loosely regulated by the government. Finally, communism replaces the operation of a free market almost entirely. Most of the rights enjoyed within the capitalist system are denied and private ownership is prohibited. • 11. Early Childhood Education Essay examples "Play is developmentally appropriate for primary–age children and can provide them with opportunities that enrich the learning experience" (Copple & Bredekamp 2009). Early childhood education holds two main focuses; a child–based focus and a family–based focus. Early childhood education has positive outcomes on the child through their learning experiences, and their growth and development. Based on the family, the results of early education happen through the communication that the family has with the educators and by the encouragement they get from within themselves, and also from the educators. Children learn most of what they know through play. There are many ways in which a child learns on a daily basis, they learn the skills and...show more content... Educators can facilitate the children with different materials and environments in the classrooms that are in the early learning centres. The children need to develop their minds cognitively. "Children actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore their world" (Berk 2007). Children are needing to develop their abilities through their play experiences, and also through their play experiences, they can develop appropriately. Early childhood education plays a large part in a child's early development. Children develop cognition through two main stages that Jean Piaget theorized. The stages run from birth and infancy to school age children. Sensorimotor is the first stage and goes from birth to about the age of two. This stage implies that the children learn about the environment they live in and they learn this through the reflexes and movements they produce. They also learn that they are separate people from their parents and they can say goodbye to them and know they will come back. The second stage is called the preoperational stage. During this stage of development, children will learn how to incorporate symbols to represent objects. This is also the beginning of learning the alphabet and speech. The child is still very much egocentric at this point in time, but with the help of understanding educators, the child will grow appropriately onto the next stages of development. Finally, the children need to develop emotionally/socially. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflection Introduction To Sociology Introduction to Sociology– Class Reflection This semester I took Introduction to Sociology. This was one of the last classes for my prerequisite to the nursing program. I put this class off because I failed to see how it would apply to my degree. However, despite my doubts, I found nearly all of the materials and concepts to be applicable, to a certain agree, to my life, job, and education. WHAT I LEARNED Two topics within this sociology course stood out to me: the sociological function of the family and the control theory that describes crime and social conformity. The control theory (Giddens 2016: 177) is the idea that crime and social control are like a tetter totter. Hirischi, a control theorist, says that all crime is thought out...show more content... IMPACT ON MY FUTURE Currently I am studying to be a registered nurse and I work as a nurse aide at a hospital. Many subjects covered in this class related to what I am doing and hope to be doing in the future. Chapter eighteen talked about health, illness, and sexuality. This chapter defined the term sociology of the body, which is "a field that focuses on how our health and illness are affected by social and cultural influences" (Giddens, 2016: 583). As a nurse aide, I see a lot of different people from very different social and cultural background. Each handles illness in very different ways, some choose to endure their illness alone while others have family beside them at all time. So people refuse to have male nurse and others refuse to allow female nurses perform certain procedures. All of these things reflect their social and cultural upbringing. HOW SOCIOLOGY CAN HELP How can sociology help people be better citizens, workers, and family members? First and foremost is by understanding what sociology is and why people study it. Next people need to understand culture and how culture is one of the main reasons people grow up so differently and why there are so many different groups of people. The definition of culture is "the values, norms, and material goods characteristic of a given group" Get more content on HelpWriting.net

To many of us death brings a chill down our spine ridden with fear, but to others it is ridden with strength and satisfaction of accomplishment. Fortunately or unfortunately we are all condemned to death. However no one knows when exactly the inevitable will approach, but we all know it is inescapable. But what makes death seem more realistic to us and those in denial of it is the lucid pictures of people suffering, in pain and those on their death bed before many of us can be rationale and accept the truth. For many of us who are in a relationship either by marriage or simply as mates can relate to the feelings they are exhibited within and around one when they are with or simply thinking about our mates. This feeling of security and belonging tends to increase our love towards each other, especially during times of pain and death. However, many of us are unable to recall vividly what happens throughout our dreams, if anything at all. Due to this clouded unique nature that is dreaming, most of the knowledge why we dream is largely inconclusive. Nonetheless, after many years of theoretical debate on the subject, three arguments have remained prominent of which I will I will be discussing. The areas stimulated have been found, due to Hobson's brain scans or the 1970's, to be that of visual (visual cortex) and emotional (limbic system) areas of our brain. Such theory explains the random, hallucinatory images induced by dreamers and the disorder of events remembered due to the inaction of thought processing areas (prefrontal cortex). In all, dreaming is a phenomenon that can generally be argued as serviceable to our being and is certainly fascinating, however it's clear purposes remain uncertain.
