Notes: Soap and makeup.. we'll always need them. The insight of efficient and effective is one out of the 50s. Making life easier for house moms. One of my favorite stories by Joshua of Pangea at The Feast Conference was when he realized that people paid a lot of money for soap.
Both Pangea and Method are cradle to cradle conscious. Pangea even has wrappers that you can plant and will turn into plants. But they don't sacrifice brand or message.
Notes: Just because people need something, and a product already exists, doesn't mean you can't make it more efficient, more beautiful, or all around better.
In just 6 months at a hospital in rural Malawi… 150 patients received emergency care, community health workers saved 1,000 hours of travel time which they used to visit more patients, the number of people being treated for Tuberculosis doubled, and the hospital saved $3500 worth of fuel, which was used to purchase medication. We need your help to collect phones for clinics and community health workers who need them.
FRONTLINE SMS ALLOWS YOU TO TEXT MESSAGE WITH LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE ANYWHERE THERE IS A MOBILE SIGNAL. for everything from monitoring elections to distributing health care information
SMS as utility and the new computer
Notes: Just because people need something, and a product already exists, doesn't mean you can't make it more efficient, more beautiful, or all around better.

- Retail DNA Test - Learning and sharing your genetic secrets are at the heart of 23andMe's controversial new service — a $399 saliva test that estimates your predisposition for more than 90 traits and conditions ranging from baldness to blindness. - In 2008, Time magazine named 23andMe's DNA-testing service "Invention of the Year" for pioneering retail genomics.[10]
Wojcicki and Avey see themselves not just as businesswomen but also as social entrepreneurs. With their customers' consent, they plan to amass everyone's genetic footprint in a giant database that can be mined for clues to which mutations make us susceptible to specific diseases and which drugs people are more likely to respond to. "You're donating your genetic information," says Wojcicki. "We could make great discoveries if we just had more information. We all carry this information, and if we bring it together and democratize it, we could really change health care."

Something innovative in and of itself, The Feast works on a micr-sponsorship model. Something we coined and created because we figured the conference model could use a little innovation itself
