1. Fort Moultrie, in Charleston, SC is one part of a three-part memorial to commemorate the battle fought at Fort Sumter, the site of the beginning of the American Civil War. Fort Moultrie was a key part in the United States’ naval defense and is the only location in which you can trace the entire history of American seacoast defense.
