A new species of segmented worm that uses its fins to walk was discovered in 2007 by Census of Marine Life researchers 2.8 kilometers under the Celebes Sea using a remotely operated vehicle. Only four specimens of the ten-centimeter worm have been found. It represents the first member of a new family of segmented worms.
