Our education team of STEM professionals and expert educators is driven by its guiding philosophy of
fostering experiential learning and empowering people to understand and change the world around
them.
Curriculum &
InstructionA mathematical physicist by training, Aditya
is currently a part of the physics faculty at
CUNY Queens College, Aditya teaches
undergraduate and graduate students a
wide variety of classes from astronomy, to
calculus, to the college’s first course on
robotics. An unshakable passion for
tinkering and hands-on educational
techniques has brought him to 16Hertz’s
education team.
Product Design
Akin started at Ethical Culture Schools,
Fieldston campus. After graduation from
Fieldston, Akin attended The United States
Air Force Academy where he majored in
Aeronautical Engineering His long standing
passion for engineering has lead him to
cofound 16 Hertz a premier engineer
consulting firm.
Managing
DirectorA Social scientist (MSW) and college-level
educator by trade. Richard has additional
experience working in the NYC Public
Schools. Launched forensic-science
focused STEM program in middle and high
schools and has unparalled expertise in
evaluation and collaborative models and
logistics.
Chief Engineer
A computer scientist and an electrical
engineer, Arun has contributed extensively
to the reprap opensource 3D printer project
and many other pioneering projects in the
field of engineering. He is well known for
industry leading research on the
autonomous, search and rescue
quadcopter. He currently serves as the
chief engineer for research and
development at 16Hertz.

5. To address the issue of dwindling space and resources in urban
schools, we’ve developed Tesla Truck, a mobile maker-space. This 21st
century STEM lab is a fully functional machine and wood shop, an
electronics lab, and a workspace on wheels. It is equipped with cutting
edge tools like laser cutters, 3D printers and other CNC machines.
Tesla Truck contains the tools necessary for our lessons.

• Biobus, a mobile biology bus where students use microscopes and other tools
• STEM Mobile Learning Lab, a trailer outfitted with computers and stations where students
participate in activities about nanotechnology and green technology
• ThinkTank, a mobile neuroscience lab which plans to teach the public neuroscience
techniques through interactive activities
