Jackson was lead to his abstract art by way of recovery from his severe
alcoholism. It was a form of expressionism for not only himself but the rest of

Jackson affected the art world around him by influencing other abstract artists
like Lee Krasner (his wife), Robert Morris, and Franz Kline to be more
experimental with their art styles
Jackson influenced the future of art into a minimalist style with many color field
paintings.
Now more than ever are people obsessing over the minimalist styles and
wanting that sort of design in their homes and lifestyles.
