3. • Learning is a lifelong
process that doesn’t
end after graduating
from school or
university. As you
progress through this
journey called “life”.
• Learning is a change
in knowledge , beliefs,
behaviors or attitudes
4. What is Effective
Learning?
• Methods of teaching
and learning that
actively involve children
in their own learning
and personal
development.
6. Seek
Knowledge
You need to have the desire to
seek knowledge and acquire
new skills.
If there is no willingness to
learn, you will never become an
effective learner. It’s as simple
as that.
Islam gives too much
importance on seeking
knowledge.
Allah Almighty says in Holy
Quran:
“And say: My Lord, increase me
in knowledge.”(Quran 20:114)
7. Have an Open Mind
o In everyday use, the term "open-minded" is often
used as a synonym for being non-prejudiced or
tolerant.
o From a psychological perspective, the term is
used to describe how willing people are to
consider other perspectives or to try out new
experiences.
o Keep your mind open to flow of new ideas.
8. Ask Questions
Don’t hesitate to ask
questions because you don’t
know the answers to
everything.
Also, don’t shy away from
having discussions and
debates with people around
you. It will give you a new
perspective and enhance the
learning process.
9. Find Your Preferred Learning Style
• We all know someone who absorbs knowledge
like a sponge, but the reality is, we can’t all be
sponges. Therefore, it’s imperative to figure out
what your optimal learning style is. For example,
some people are visual learners while others
learn best through listening. There are no set
guidelines to learning so just figure out which
one is the right one for you
10. Do Not
Memorize
• Memorizing may help you score high in
exams, but it is only short-term knowledge.
• True learning occurs when you understand
the logic behind concepts. If you don’t
understand a particular concept, the best
thing to do is to refer to Tip #2 and ask
questions.
“learning without reflection is a waste.
Reflection without learning is dangerous”
11. Practice, practice, practice
Practice makes you perfect
The more you practice the more you will
retain.
Believe in yourself and keep trying there
is nothing in this world that you can not
do!
12. Stop Multitasking
o For many years, it was thought that
people who multitask (perform more
than one activity at once) had an
edge over those who did not.
However, research now suggests that
multitasking can make learning less
effective.
13. A day spent without learning something new, is a day of your life
wasted!
