1. South África
The flag of South Africa was
adopted on 27 April 1994 to replace
the flag that had been used since
1928. The new national flag was
designed by Frederick Brownell to
represent the new democracy. The
flag has horizontal bands
of red and blue (on the bottom), of
equal width, separated by a
central green band which splits into
a horizontal "Y" shape, the arms of
which end at the corners of the hoist
side (and follow the flag's diagonals)

is the official Independence
Day of South Africa. It is
celebrated on 27th of April
every year and commemorates
the first democratic, non racial
elections held in 1994
Type of Government
The Republic of South Africa is a constitutional
democracy with three-tier system of
government and an independent judiciary,
operating in a parliamentary system.
Legislative authority is held by the Parliament
of South Africa. Executive authority is vested in
the President of South Africa and his Cabinet.
The President is elected from the Parliament to
serve a fixed term. The national, provincial and
local levels of government all have legislative
and executive authority in their own spheres.Economic activities
South Africa's economy was traditionally
rooted for mineral resources and favourable
agricultural conditions.
Since the early 1990s, economic growth has
been driven mainly by trade, tourism and
communications. Now South Africa is
becoming a knowledge-based economy, with
a greater focus on technology, e-commerce
and financial and other services. Two of the
most important are mining and agriculture.
CURRENCY
The South African currency is the Rand
divisible into 100 cents, which is also
used in other countries. The
Johannesburg stock exchange is the
largest of
Africa.
3. Types of climates
South Africa is situated between 22°S and 35°S, in
the Southern Hemisphere's subtropical zone. It has a
wider variety of climates than most other countries,
and it has lower average temperatures than other
countries.
The Highveld is the eastern plateau area of South
Africa. It is typified by at an elevation of 1,753
metres. The north and west of the city has undulating
hills while, the eastern parts are flatter.
The Western Cape province has a Mediterranean
climate warm and hot in summer and rainy
conditions in winter.
It is a beautiful and elegant mammal. It is recognized by the
horns, which only has the male and measuring 50 cm; they are
thin and curved. He is able to jump 10 metres once. The male
has a length of 1, 70 m and plus 30 cm tail. The impala is
yellowish, has a darker part on the back and white on the belly.
He lives in the woods of South Africa. Females live in herd with
their young, separated from males, except in the mating season.

Environmental problems
Water is perhaps South Africa's most critical
resource, of low abundance and growing
needs. The supply of fresh water in South
Africa is almost limit. Less than 10% of rainfall
is available as surface water, one of the lowest
in the world.
Most plants in the lowlands have been cleared
for agriculture and urban development.
A high level of traffic associated with oil
transport from the Arabian Gulf has resulted in
contamination from spills and discharge of
polluted waters.
4. Famous artist of South África:
Miriam Makeba
Miriam Makeba is a famous
singer. She began singing in
the fifties with the Manhattan
Brothers group, after she
founded her own band, The
Skylarks. After seeing that she
could not perform music she
wanted in their country, the
singer traveled to Venice and
then traveled to London to
continue her career. It was an
icon of the struggle against
"apartheid" in his country
(system of racial segregation
in South Africa). She sang a
mixture of jazz with traditional
music of South Africa.
It reached its peak of popularity with
this song, Pata Pata, launched in
1967. This sung in Xhosa, one of the
11 official languages of South Africa.
