2. FIRST YEARS
• Georges Braque was born near Paris in 1882. he
studied at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and started
to paint in 1904 in his own workshop.

3. FIRST PAINTINGS : FAUVISM
• He was first influenced by fauvism and Cézanne as
he stayed in South of France.

• After meeting with Picasso, he contributed to the
creation of the cubist mouvement.

5. BRAQUE’S INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES
• He inserts letters and figures in his paintings. He

incorporates sand.
• He uses collage techniques with pieces of
newspapers, posters and wall paper.
