Narrator 1: Once upon a bad hair day, a prince rode up
Rapunzel’s way.
Narrator 2: From up above he heard her whine, upset her hair
had lost its shine.
Narrator 3: He thought her crying was a plea and sallied forth to
set her free.
Narrator 4: Alas, she was too far away to quite make out what he
would say:
Prince: Rapunzel, Rapunzel throw down your hair!
Narrator 1: She thought he said underwear.
Prince: No, Rapunzel. Your curly locks!
Narrator 2: Rapunzel threw down dirty socks.
Prince: Please, love, just your silky tresses!
Narrator 3: She thought he asked for silky dresses.

Narrator 4: In lace and frills up to his head, the prince’s cheeks
were blushing red.
Prince: Rapunzel, do you have a rope?
Narrator 1: Rapunzel dropped a cantaloupe.
Narrator 2: It burst in pieces on his head.
Rapunzel: Oh, bad catch!
Narrator 3: Rapunzel said.
Prince: Perhaps this is a test.
Narrator 4: And bound by love, he did not rest.
Prince: OK, Rapunzel, how about twine?
Narrator 1: She heaved out her blue-ribbon swine.
Narrator 2: By now the prince was feeling hammered, not to
mention less enamored.
Prince: Do you have a ladder?
Narrator 3: Rapunzel tossed out pancake batter.
Narrator 4: It covered him from head to toe.

Narrator 1: She yelled,
Rapunzel: It’s better cooked you know!
Narrator 2: At this the poor prince had a cry; then cupped his
hands for one last try:
Prince: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your BRAID!
Narrator 3: Confused Rapunzel pushed out her maid.
Narrator 4: The maid fell squarely on the prince, quite pleased
with the coincidence.
Narrator 1: She nimbly jumped off his lap and soon revived the
flattened chap.
Narrator 2: Then smiling said,
Maid: For what it’s worth, you’ll find I’m really down to earth.
Narrator 3: His young heart thrilled. He gave a hoot, for what was
more, the maid was cute!
Narrator 4: She set the prince upon his steed; then leapt behind
with grateful speed.
Narrator 1: And leaning close so he could hear, she whispered
something in his ear:

Maid: I fell for you when we first met.
Narrator 2: He nodded.
Prince: How could I forget?
Narrator 3: Rapunzel watched them ride from sight.
Rapunzel: I’m glad I finally heard him right! I hope if they come
back for more, they’ll think to knock on my back door.
