To accommodate changes to bib records due to RDA standards. Innovative maintains an FAQ on CSDirect. III also provides a Service Commitment wherein they will update your load tables for RDA compliance. They can also provide advice on how you can update load tables as well as webpub.def to control WebPAC display.
The Service Commitment saves you time, as III will update all of your load tables in one go.
Data Exchange in Sierra is very similar to Millennium, but there are some differences. The process “Load Records via a Locally Created Load Profile”
Load profiles are accessed from Admin Corner, which then brings you to the character-based system.
The process “Load Records via a Locally Created Load Profile” is a dropdown list instead of icon buttons.
There are a number of resources available to help in creating and editing load tables. A short description of each follows, with a list of links at the end.
The first step is attending a Load Profile Training workshop where you will learn to create, edit and implement load tables and translation or mapping tables on your system. Upon completing the training you are given access to the Load Profile Training Manual and Listserv.
The LPT manual is a comprehensive “how to” guide and is a useful tool to train staff on the basics of load table creation and maintenance.
Once you have taken the LPT Workshop you will be signed up to the Load Profile listserv, a forum for discussion on load profile creation and maintenance You can post questions to the LPT community and also search the archives.
The Load ProfilersWiki is a user-contributed site to share resources such as load and mapping tables. Innovative staff do not verify the contents and descriptions posted in the wiki. It is seemingly under-used?
Links to the LPT manual and Wiki can be found on CSDirect. There is also a link to the Load profile training powerpoint presentation.
