•Apply online at www.fdtc.edu. Select General Studies (High
School Students Only) as the Program of Interest.
•Submit ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER test scores.
•Complete the Dual Enrollment Forms Packet:

What’s Next?
You will receive a SAR (Student Aid Report) in your email from
the Department of Education. Review for any errors.
Each school listed on your FAFSA will receive the FAFSA, and will
notify you of any documents needed and/or your award.
FDTC will communicate with you through your school email and
your Web Advisor account. Please be certain to set these
accounts up and check them regularly.

ADVISEMENT
Students must complete 67% of their attempted credit hours each
semester.
Students must maintain a 2.0 or higher cumulative Financial Aid GPA.
If you drop all your courses prior to the 60% date of the term, you may
have to repay some of your financial aid.
Only take courses needed for your program.
There is a limit to the lifetime amount of Pell grant you can receive.
There is a limit to the lifetime amount of student loans you can receive.

•Be a US citizen or registered permanent alien

•Seek motivation to graduate from Florence-Darlington Technical College or to

•Be enrolled at least half-time and pursuing a certificate, diploma or associate's
degree from FDTC

WHAT IS UPWARD BOUND
• The federal TRIO Upward Bound Program is designed to increase
the rate at which participants complete their high school
education, enroll in and graduate from institutions of higher
learning.
• Upward Bound consists of an Academic Year and a Summer
Program –both components are required.
• During the academic year the program provides:
– Classes in Language Arts, Math through pre-Calculus, Science,
Foreign Language and Tutorial Sessions.
– Specially-trained tutors and instructors who help develop basic skills
in subjects required for high school graduation.
– Staff who coordinate motivational activities through individual and
group sessions.

An individual is eligible for Upward Bound if student
attends:
Creek Bridge, Darlington, Hannah-Pamplico, Lake City,
Lamar, Marion, Timmonsville and Wilson High School
 Is a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United
States;
 A potential first generation college student

 Has a need for academic support in order to successfully
pursue a post secondary education.
 At the time of initial selection, the student can be either a

57. Testing Procedures
• Students are required to show picture id’s
• Students are not allowed to have any sort of electronic device on their person
including cell phones, iPods and/or mp3 player.
• Students who are taking the same tests are not allowed to sit by one another.
• Students are only allowed materials per instructors request on tests.
• If a student is suspected of cheating, it will be reported to the instructor.
