2. Chapter 1
Tao left the rabbit where he was secretly
drawing.

3. Chapter 1
Tao was kicked out of his camp.

4. Chapter 3
Tao helps a wolf dog steal eggs from the eagle-
owl mother.

5. Chapter 3
Tao becomes friends with the wolf dog and
names him Ram.

6. Chapter 5
The people of the clan spots Ram in the bushes,
and tries to kill it.

7. Chapter 5
Tao decides to live all by himself with Ram in a
cave.

8. Chapter 7
Tao learns about how Volt got his scar and why
the Slough is forbidden.

9. Chapter 7
Graybeard, when seeing Tao’s drawings gets mad
and rubs his drawings out.

10. Chapter 9
Tao sees saxon the sacred bull in the high cliffs.

11. Chapter 9
Graybeard decides to teach Tao everything about
cave painting including “magic”.

12. Chapter 11
Tao is happy to please Volt and Garth.

13. Chapter 11
Graybeard takes Tao to a hidden place where Tao
will learn about cave painting.

14. Chapter 13
Volt and Garth finds out that Tao has been
hunting with Ram.

15. Chapter 13
Volt and the other clan hunters were trying to kill
Ram, but Tao and Ram manage to escape.

16. Chapter 15
Graybeard tells Tao the directions to go to the
Secret Cavern, and left him.

17. Chapter 15
Graybeard gives Tao his deerskin pouch.

18. Chapter 17
Tao saw four hunters carrying back something
dead, which was Graybeard.

19. Chapter 17
Tao wins over Saxon, and learns that Volt is his
father.
