• The fortress was the largest coastal defense facility in
Sweden, and is the only surviving of it’s kind
• It has been of a great importance for the Swedish
army because of its location
• 1809 was the last time the enemies were in the area
• At 40 meters deep in the mountain 320 soldiers
served in the shelter of the rock wich would survive a
nuclear attack
