ABS uses speed sensors and valves controlled by a pump and controller to prevent wheels from locking up during braking. It works by quickly reducing and restoring brake pressure to wheels that are decelerating too fast through the use of pulses. There are different types of ABS that vary based on the number of wheels monitored, with four-channel ABS monitoring each wheel individually to provide the best braking control.
