3. Acting as a ‘buddy’ for a individuals with disabilities
contributes to my identity as I feel a sense of satisfaction
when I know I can help others by BEING someone they can
spend time with. Jenner Health Centre, (2007). Retrieved from:

4. Throughout my schooling
life I went to the mountain
skiing once a week as we
live half an hour from
Mount Ruapehu. So skiing
not only makes up my
identity because it is an
occupation I participate in
but also relates closely to
where I come from and
BELONG.
5. I swam in competitive competitions for 10
years, trained to be a surf lifeguard and played
waterpolo. The different swimming activities
have been present throughout my life and so it
is an occupation not only have I BECOME good
at but I am now part of a range of communities.
6. Leaving home and coming to a new city to
live with friends and study has allowed for
me to BECOME more independent.
7. I am an older sister to
Charlotte (17) and
Madeline (11). We
spend a lot of time
together when I am
home doing different
activities that we all
enjoy. I am able to BE a
role model and a friend
for them.
8. My family away from home!
These are the people I make
memories with through fun
activities.
9. Little Bay, a beach in the Coromandel is
my favourite place in New Zealand,
where I have spent every holiday with
family and friends.
10. BEING (one of) the owners
of our family pets, Molly,
gives me a responsibility to
feed, clean and run her.
11. One of my favorite things to
DO….cook, bake and eat! I can
express myself through what I
create and share it with my
family and flat mates.
