1. Our mission is to empower you to reach and maintain
your optimum state of health.
2. • Chiropractic means "done by hand." Derived from the words "chiro"
meaning "hand" and "praxis" to do.
• Chiropractors use their hands to release tension throughout the
musculoskeletal system, which impacts on the nervous system.
3. • The nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal cord and its peripheral nerves.
Essentially this is similar to domestic wiring systems such as a fuse board.
• E.g. the fuse board represents the brain, and the wires that feed the lights and
sockets are the nerves that feed the muscles and organs.
4. • If there is a problem with the fuse board or the wires, the lights may not come on.
• Likewise, where nerve impingement is present the muscles or organs supplied by
that nerve may not be functioning at its optimal best.
5. • Doctors of Chiropractic focus on restoring the function of the nervous
system and reducing brain stress.
• This is achieved with gentle adjustments and mobilisations throughout the
body. There are over 100 different chiropractic techniques. WOW!
• Your doctor may even refer you for some soft tissue muscle work such as a
massage or shockwave therapy.
6. • The nerves in your neck supply the hands, arms and the brain.
• The nerves in your mid back supply the mid organs and chest.
• The nerves of the lower back supply the bowl, bladder, private region, legs
and feet.

7. • Structure governs your function.
• You can help your own nervous system by maintaining correct posture.
• Look after your structure (posture) and your organs will function better,
your muscles will be stronger, your energy levels will increase, your
musculoskeletal pains will decrease, brain stress will decrease, and lots
more amazing benefits.
8. • When The Shard was being constructed the first task they start with is the
footings, or foundations!
• If the footings aren’t PERFECT the integrity of the building will be
compromised.
• Ideal posture starts with foot posture!!!
9. • The correct foot positioning can be achieved through custom –made foot
exercises and what shoes you wear!
• If your shoes do not have ideal foot support, you may develop planta-
fasciitis, bunions, flat feet, etc.
• To stop this poor posture from advancing ask Dr James for a foot orthotic
check up.
How long do you want to have
good posture?
10. • Example: if your ankle isn’t moving as it should move, it can stress other
joints such as your knees, hips, lower back (in fact anything above the
ankle).
• With the correct foot support (orthotics if needed), chiropractic
adjustments, and soft tissue work (if needed) you can gain optimal
movement in the ankle reducing stress on what is above.
11. • Run, walk, crawl, cartwheel... In fact, any kind of movement is considered
healthy.
• Some joints may become stiff over time. This is usually caused due to a
lack of correct movement or neglect.
• A lot of these stiff joints can be found in the spine.
• Your chiropractor will get these joints moving better with precise spinal
adjustments, mobilisations and muscle stimulation.
12. • Did you know your body sends your brain stress signals every time a
joint isn’t moving properly.
• Stress signals from eating toxins, thinking toxins or a lack of correct
movement increases brain stress. These stresses can build up to stress the
brain on the inside.
13. • These lead to a lack of ease, know as dis- ease. Lethargic, anxiety, tiredness
are some examples of long term brain stress. Did you also know that
movement is one of the 3 pillars to health?
• “… So how do I move properly, Doc?”
14. How long do you want to stay fit and healthy?

uncontrollable (what mum and dad gave you).

health and ask yourself which pillar(s) you’re missing:
eat, move and think?

body.
