 Have a drink nearby when breastfeeding as hormone oxtoxin released when breastfeeding can make you
feel thirsty.
 Avoid dehydration and keep an eye on colour of your urine if its dark and strong smelling means
dehydrated.
 Breastfeeding usually gives you a big appetite
but you may loose weight as the store from being
pregnancy depletes.
 If you think a particular food has affected your
baby you could try cutting it of your diet out for a
few days to see if it makes a difference. Source
vegetables such as cabbage cauliflower, broccoli,
toxins as well as cows milk and chocolate can
cause colic symptoms.
 Initially newborn baby poo maybe a little runny but this can be a normal response to the increase of milk
you are making.
 Vitamin D: Babies will get vitamin D from breast milk so it is
important for those breastfeeding to have sufficient amounts.
Most Vitamin D comes from sunlight. Our bodies make it when
skin is exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D helps bones and teeth to
grow. Babies can have vitamin D drops from one month.
 Alcohol : Only one or two units once or twice a week is
advisable. So approximately one to two glasses of wine per
week. Feed baby before drinking, up to three hours after
drinking alcohol the levels in your blood should be low enough
to enable you to breast feed your baby again.
