Macrophages display antigens from inside or outside the cell using different receptors. Endogenous antigens from inside the cell are presented using MHC class I receptors, while exogenous antigens from outside the cell can be presented using either MHC class I or MHC class II receptors. MHC class II receptors are used to present exogenous antigens from outside the cell.
