The document discusses research done on rock music content and statistics found about violence at concerts. Some bands like Iron Maiden use violent imagery in their shows and songs that may influence violence, while research with questionnaires found most people watch documentaries and want facts, interviews, and voiceovers included. A risk assessment was also produced for camera equipment.
2. We researched on the web about what rock music content was made up of and we found
these statistics which we are going to discuss in our documentary.
3. The information found gave us a view from each
side of the ‘stage’. It showed how at some of the We used the website
concerts of certain rock bands the crowd created
the violence where as in other cases the bands orthodoxphotos.com to find
instigated violence by having certain elements of
their shows that were of a violent background. For
out information on the
example: different bands that were big
Iron Maiden's mascot is "Eddy" a dead man who kills with
great delight. According to Satanist and brutal murderer in the 1990’s; for
Richard Ramirez (the "Night Stalker"), it was AC/ DC's song
"Night Prowler" that became part of his motivation to murder example, ‘Guns and Roses’
30 people. He said the song gave him "inspiration. "Night
Prowler" contains the stanza, "No one's gonna warn you, no and ‘Iron Maiden’.
one's gonna yell 'attack!' and you can't feel the steel until it's
hanging out your back, I'm your night prowler.“
4. We gave out questionnaires to students
around college to see what people
believed and knew about the music
industry (focusing on Rock and Urban
music).
We also asked what people thought
were the main conventions of a
documentary and what they usually
looked out for. This was so we could
aim to include these in our
documentary.
5. 6/10 people that we handed our
questionnaire to said that they watched
documentaries.
4/10 said that a well informed voiceover was
a key element of a documentary.
6/10 said that the use of expert interviews
and vox pops are both equally important
elements of a documentary.
Fly on the wall footage scored lowest in the
key elements question as 3/10 said it was
important.
Facts and Figures scored the highest with a
score of 10/10.
5/10 people said that appropriate music and
sound effects were one of the most
important key elements of a documentary.
6. We produced a risk
assessment for when we
are working with the
camera equipment, this
allows us to show that
we know the risks
involved while filming.
