2. Business overview:
Poultry meat is an important source of proteins, minerals and vitamin. There are several number
of poultry species. Chicken are the most commonly reared poultry species. Commercial chicken
is most successful business in Bangladesh.
Quail farming is not very common farming venture in Bangladesh. But being a lucrative venture,
it has a great potential of making money in Bangladesh perspective. A layer quail lays 250-300
eggs per year. And the hatchability of quail egg is 86-90%. Building a quail farm isn’t very
costly. A beginner who has small amount of capital can start quail farming easily. Our
environment is suitable for quail rearing. Quail is resistant to maximum diseases. It doesn’t need
special care. It consumes only 20-30 gm feed per day but grows rapidly.
For these reasons some of my friends and I have decided to build a Quail farm. The name of our
farm will be Shanti Quail Farm. We want to use the maximum advantage of the vast
opportunities available in the agricultural industry. As there are very few farms in Bangladesh.
we want to take the whole advantage of the scenario.
Location:
The farm will be located in Companigonj, Noakhali. We have brought 3 acres of land in a
suitable area with good transportation facility.
Our services:
Shanti farm is committed to raise quails primarily for egg in both local and national market.
Our services include

 Selling of chicks
 Selling of adult quails
 Selling of litter and other by products.
Our Vision:
We want to become one of leading quail egg production brand not only in Noakhali but also
throughout Bangladesh. In near future we will enter into the global market to sell our good
quality products.

Our mission is to sell quality product to our customers and gaining their trust in return. We will
provide good quality egg as well as quality chick to our customers.

SWOT Analysis
Strength:
 We have good quality hatchery equipment that will help us to raise good quality quails
 We will provide quality feed to the quail that will helps to attain optimum production
 We have some expertise personnel’s in the field of quail rearing
 The location of our farm is in a suitable place
 We have full government support
 We are committed to quality and success
 We have a good relation with some renowned poultry feed meal owners.
 We have the ability to extend our farm size in near future
Weakness:
 Quail egg is not so common in Bangladesh. It will take us some time to attract customers.
 Maintaining proper bio-security is a great challenge.
 Lack of government policies
Opportunities:
 It doesn’t require a license to start a poultry farming
 The feed consumption ratio of a quail is 2.3. Quail eats small amount of feed but gains
body weight rapidly.
 There is a good demand for quail meat now a day
 There are very few number of quail rearing farms in Bangladesh in proportion to the
demand
 Diseases in quail bird are less when compared to the other poultry species.
 Dropping of poultry is also a great source of income
 Low risk

4.  The demand of quail egg is increasing day by day
 Quail egg has some medicinal values
Threats:
 Natural calamities are a great threat as Companigonj is a coastal area.
 Ulcerative enteritis and coccidiosis are great threat for quail although quails are resistant
from most diseases.
 Predators like snakes, cat and rodent are big threat in quail farming
 Human thieve is a great challenge of quail farming
Market Trend:
 One of the trend in the egg production industry is beautification of eggs to increase eggs
attractiveness for consumers and make them to purchase the egg.
 Quail farmer can now predict and produce as much as quails and egg as they want per
time using modern machineries.

Our Pricing Strategy:
Our pricing strategy will be based on total net cost of our farming per batch. We will follow local
market in case of pricing our product. We are aware of that the easiest means of getting into
market and get attraction from customer is to sell of our product at competitive price. Hence, we
will do what we can do to ensure that thee price of our products are going to be what other
company would look toward beating.
