1. ZMYO QURBANI 2015
Zimbabwe Muslim Youth Organisation executed Qurbani programs with the help of Islamic
Da'awah Movement. Apart from youth issues we also focus with philanthropic activities in
humanitarian aid for the benefit of the society. We have managed to distribute meat to 100
families at a place named Battler Farm.80 of the beneficiaries were Muslims and the remaining
20 were non-Muslims. This place is a compound and due to the economic downswings in
Zimbabwe there is less activity in that area which means the majority of the able bodied people
in that area are not employed which left them with less or no disposable income.
The benefited population constituted of the elderly people, the disabled, orphans, widows and
the general society. The people leaving there can hardly find food to sustain their livelihoods
and it was a relief for them to have benefited from this distribution as they would be able to
supplement on their diet. This society is a typical society of many other societies that we have
in Zimbabwe and from the fact that the majority of Muslim population emanated from Malawi
back in the 90s,and were employed in these farming areas, it is clear testimony that the majority
of these thematic groups being affected are Muslims residing in these areas.
To this end, Zimbabwe Muslim Youth Organisation is calling for sustainable development for
all, capacity building workshops, educational support programs, technical skills enhancement,
entrepreneurship training programs, sustainable development cooperatives programs.
"on every meal lets remember the poor, whenever your child calls you, remember those who
don't have anyone to cry to, when we spent ,lets think of those who don’t have anyone to give
them a shoulder, those who are willing to go to school bare footed but still they don't afford
even if they are willing to forego the basic need"'
We wish you the best in all your endeavours and we also welcome your contribution and
participation in all the activities we do in a bid to foster development within the Muslim
fraternity. you can visit our website at www.zmyo.org.zw
