1. ‘Totally Over You’
On Wednesday the 14th of July 2010 I went to see a school play that was being performed at my school called ‘Totally Over You’
I went backstage for a bit to wish everyone good luck before they went on stage. All the actors were getting ready and had the biggest smiles on their faces; they were all looking forward to the second night of performing their play, a few of them were still getting rid of some last minute nerves.
My friends and I patiently lined up eager to get in and watch the play. At first I didn’t really know what to expect, although i did know how much hard work had gone into making this play so just from the dedication everyone put in, I could tell it was going to be a play worth watching.
Everyone was taking their seats and the lights dimmed everyone leaned forward in their seats ready for the play to start. As the play went on the story line became more and more interesting with various different dilemmas.
The atmosphere had a very lively, heart warming effect on the audience, making the audience feel involved in the play; for example when they used people from the audience in their play, it just made us feel part of the play.
I think the part that stood out for me was the ending because it got the message across write at the end. It made me start thinking about what the play was trying to tell me, it gave me that feeling inside that was making me think everything I need is right in front of me and becoming famous doesn’t need to change a thing,
I think there could have been one or two improvements like when the boys were singing on stage. It wasn’t very clear what they were saying but it could have been because of the microphones although this made it a lot harder for me to concentrate and understand what they were singing about although I could see they tried their hardest no matter how bad there microphones were.
The ending when everyone in the cast united as one gave a real warm effect to the audience, making me especially feel extremely calm and made me think about the play and what message they had just put across.
I would definitely recommend people to go watch the play, especially kids our age as the issues and problems that were shown in ‘Totally Over You’ were problems that children our age are easily able to relate to; for example when all these girls wanted to be a celebrity. Children our age think too much of wanting to be famous and be like others but watching ‘Totally over you’ it made you think twice about situations like that and think that you don’t need to change who you are or who your friends are if u become famous.
Overall it was just an amazing performance and I would give the biggest round of applause to every single person who helped in any way to organise this play.
36195523240Totally Over You Cast
